Uhggg still no updates from Calmini on my missing parts. I need to call them tomorrow along with downsouth and see where my rear shocks are...

On another note, working on procuring a daily so I can have the X torn down for a month or so before winter hits. Taking permit wensday and going in to find the bottom line pricing on it tomorrow night. With any luck I will have me a new daily very soon... almost to the point I will have to sell my beloved but unused .300 WM to fund things :/

And then there was one.... 80% complete knuckle. Now to figure out pads and rotors. Im thinking slotted and dimpled rotors with ceramic pads.

Well... I goofed, I didnt leave enough uptravel so I bottom out on bumps. I will go into work tomorrow and move the top bolts as high as I can and hopefully that helps out. Otherwise the ride is pretty damn nice so far

Moved the top bolt up a little. Gained about 1.25" of up travel on both sides. After talking to a couple people I have decided I need to look into getting better leafs to help both lift the rear but also firm it up so the bumps dont bottom these shock out as much

Yeah, I spoke to that BS artist as well months ago. Just got the same crap Justin was throwing at me from a different direction.
My crap is in so I'm not as stressed as I was, just pissed.
I got some Chromoly Joints from Ballistic Fabrication and 7/8 steering from Ruff Stuff that works. I got a bit of bump steer I'm trying to figure out, could use the anti-sway on the highway and need to work out the squishy brakes. Ran it at Rausch last month and was happy on the trail. Highway to and from Brooklyn was a bit tense but okay...

Have you looked into doing the 94 dodge ran brake MC swap? It ups the bore size 1/4" and pushes more fluid

I'm going to try bypassing the ABS system (removing it) and see how that feels first. The OEM MC on our truck is pretty beefy.
Increasing the bore size to push fluid through all of my unused ABS valving seems like it might be a waste of time. My thought is why not try deleting the restriction first.
If it doesn't help the old Dodge MC is cheap, easy to find and swap.

If you do that make sure you document it! I wonder if getting rid of all that extra line would actually improve the brakes like you are thinking

Yes get rid of the ABS unit and then your stock master will work. Also bleed , then bleed and then bleed more. Getting out all the air will take time. With my stock brake master I can stop quite fast with 35's.

This was from the "Bad Brake fix after SAS" thread in the Straight axle Section. Sounds like it worked well for xterraminator running 35's.

When I first did my sas i ditched the abs box and the extra lines. It worked well for a few years. Then last year the stock mc started leaking so I put the 94 dodge mc on and it improved the brake feel a bit over the stock mc. If you do the dodge mc just make sure to get one from a non hydro boost vehicle.

I will know more on this 2018 Grom on Monday, but paperwork is done and down payment is in. Im just waiting on the bank. Be great to run to and from on and around my small town. Saves gas compared to my Xterra, and does it on a budget

IMG_8484.jpg Well today I did it! I purchased my first motorcycle and my first brand new vehicle. Lots of hard work between school, work, building the Xterra, fixing credit, and living my life I managed to meet a goal in my life.

Little bit about the bike. 2018 Honda Grom, Metallic Grey, as of right now I have 8.7 miles on it with 7.7 of those being my miles. Its a super fun nimble little bike and reminds me so much of my 1971 Honda CT70 that I grew up riding. Over the next few months I plan to get a tail tidy, new mirrors, pegs, levers, and pegs. Nothing really super crazy, but enough to change the look enough to make it mine.

Its pretty fun, not fast but it is very nimble and easy to ride. My neighbor rode it and he is used to harleys and dual sports and said it was a blast to ride because its quiet and so manueverable.
