Trying to install some offroad gorilla light bar mounts and came across this problem. Roof rack bolt seased to the thread on the inside. It was just spinning in place so I took a big flat head and pried it out while turning with the impact. Any suggestions on getting it back in there or a way to mount the bolt elsewhere?

Welp. I'd say you're at about a 9. You're either gonna have to pull the whole rack off and drop the head liner to see how damaged the actual roof is and maybe install a new nutsert. Or drop the liner and thru bolt it with a nut and washer.

Im going to go with an 8.

Drop the roof liner inside and JB weld it back on or just hold it while threading the bolt back on.

Is it the front bolt or the 2nd bolt?

The trick for the roof bolts is to tighten them a hair 1st to break the thread locker nissan used.

I've seen both ways. New nutsert and throughbolt. I actually had the same issue with my rack bolts before i gave it a big 'ol nope. I have a through bolt with washers and silicone on my driver side front corner due to slight roof damage. But, none are the wiser but me and now all of you....

I just had to do this to mine. Attempted to remove my Xoskel cage and 2 of the bolt heads snapped off. So we ended up cutting them off and RTV'd it until we can drop the whole liner and drill them out. I'm really not looking forward to it... I'm seriously debating on just welding a damn nut on there and say F the damn rivnuts

That roof metal is soooo thin though. I tightened the he'll out of all my rivnuts when I had my rack off. It was a nightmare.

Yeah the thing is being in oregon, and not having a garage to work out of, I'm limited with time and rain. Anyone have any good links to a step by step process on how to complete ?

Did you have the tool? I bought one for the work van. So I'll do that when I start pulling shiat apart.
