Love the new rims Jonny!!!!
The rig looks great

Very nice. It's a great looking rig.

Thanks everyone. 8 years in the making.

Also, my wife and I have decided that we need a break away from school, work, and our daily lives, and are committing to a small "expedition" to Southern Kentucky and back. So we'll be leaving Mid March, coming back later during that week. Expedition is in quotations since she's not a camp kind of person; we'll be hitting hotels and the Dale Hollow Lake Resort.

We'll be leaving here from Lexington, heading down to the Dale Hollow Lake resort, staying a few days, and then on the drive back up, we'll be hitting various landmarks, restaurants and sightings.

Kentucky South is where we're heading towards this time around, but are going to hit East, North and West sometime in the future. Check it out. We have some more planning and coordination for rooming, and itinerary, but lucky me, I love preparation and organization.

I had the ultra, high-quality camera from work today (Canon 5D), and wanted to at least get some shots of the tires. Unfortunately, It was raining all this morning. Maybe later today.

Speaking of dirt, I finally had some time to go out and explore a bit. School has been hectic, but I finished everything yesterday, so I was able to play today. After studying, projects, quizzes and numerous assignments, I rewarded myself by venturing off for a few hours.

First stop was to fill up. I threw away my 5-Gallon because the gasket was busted. It just leaves me with my primary tank, which I only had to pay $16 or so to fill.

Afterwards, was Athens Boonesboro; the community I mentioned prior. It's amazing to see a small community outside a busy and chaotic Lexington. It's an area right outside of town that houses a very small community. I've known about this area, because it's where I went to grade school. I drove up and down the "Main Street" and saw a few POI. Additionally, some teenagers drove by as I was photographing, and gave me a look. Either way, I was ready for anything, considering I have a CCW.

Next, I drove down a road I've never been to. I tried to find a location to explore, but got nothing. However, I did find some mud to test the new tires. I've been craving to try them out, off pavement.

By this time, the sun was peeking out among the horizon, and I thought I'd grab a few shots on a horse farm that I passed. Glad I did. It turned out for some great lighting, and even better shots!

Next, I travelled to a bridge that connected my county with a neighboring county. Under the bridge, there was a very small path that looked off-road worthy. Once again, I was here, so I went for it. After a few laps back and forth, I decided to get some recording done (seen on my IG) and some photographs as well. I was here for almost an hour, considering there was so many angles, and the lighting was great!

Afterwards, I headed back into town, but stopped in at Home Depot to grab some washers for my PIAA520s that I'll be hooking up eventually. I bought them a few weeks before Jack (Brian) did, and he already has his installed... In Michigan weather lol.

Lastly, I went back home, grabbed my pup and went to the dog park. Dirt is encrusted on the body, but that doesn't bother me none, considering rain will fall tomorrow and early this week.

A few updates!

Preparations are nearly complete for our little vacation. Just need some snacks, and packing and we're golden!

Here's a trip route.

Also, a friend was kind enough to give me his 100w H3 Amber bulbs from PIAA (4) for free. He said that he's not using them, and would like to see them in use again. He even paid for shipping! Stay tuned for the lights!

Re-did my limb risers for this upcoming weekend trip. I wanted to minimize the amount of hardware, as well as throw in springs for better tension. I'm happy with the result. MUCH easier for setup and takedown.

I'm gonna have to check that out this weekend! I've been wanting to do this I just don't know how I'd mount it up top and what to do with the snorkel which I believe will be in the way.

As this weekend comes to a close, I'm proud to say that I'm an official member of Nissan Offroad Southeast (NORSE). I have never joined an offroad club, so this is my first. These guys are a great bunch, and very close/tight-knit.

It was good to finally put profile pictures to faces, as well as meet others. Thanks to Jim O'Sullivan for spotting me, and watching in time of need, as well as Stephen Bingemer for welcoming the Lexington crew, and bringing us in. Lastly, a special thanks to Sean Creighton for helping me out with my membership. Until next time, with the goat sacrificial offerings.

2016 was a heck of a year. I tried to dive in a bit with the engine components, as well as get familiar with the vehicle. Near the end of the year, I was having problems like no other. That ontop of my grandma passing, and finishing up school, 2016 will be a year to remember!

But now, all that is fixed. 2017 will be 9 years I've had this vehicle, and still get all giddy and happy inside once I sit in the driver seat. Now that I'm graduated, my primary goal is to save up enough money for a down payment on a Subaru, and keep this as a DD/Project Vehicle. But, if you are interested in what mods I plan on wanting this year, give it a look-see on my first post.

Now, while I'm here, I thought I'd share a few photos as to where I've been, what I've done; that sort of thing.

First thing's first, I bought a rear tire carrier! Took the load off my roof rack, which definitely affected my turning. I wanted to do something a bit more elaborate, but my tax refund/savings wasn't as much as I was hoping. But, Hardcore Offroad made an amazing product, and I'm very happy with it!

After months of prepping, I finally set off to Overland Expo East in 2016. I realized I was never much of a rock crawler, but I do going off pavement and into adventure. I wanted to embrace it, and meet other like-minded individuals while I was there. My buddy Chris drive his Forrester, and I met Brian (Jack Stilts) and Steven. Great group, and had a blast! We're already planning 2017, as an Overland/Adventure trek TO Overland Expo East.

Also, met with my buddy Dunn, and stalked some people for some Lowlight Photography

And that about sums up 2016. Oh, and I started a company.

The company is Skavyngr Designs(pronounced scavenger), and I incorporate any form of multimedia & design with offroad and adventure travel. A good example is the whole vector art push. It's a hot commodity right now! But, I also do logos for overland groups, organizations, design consulting, etc.

Here's a few pieces of work I've done. Check it out at skavyngr.designs on Instagram.

With all that being said, I haven't been out wheeling, camping, adventuring, etc. since October. Lots of things planned for the future, but mostly keeping low, and subtle.

I'm ready to get back out and find some dirt myself. I've been in a lull for a little bit with so much going on. NORSE has got a lot of events planned up this year so I should get some good chances coming soon.
