4LO Light Blinking

As mentioned in another thread, I'm having issues with my T-case. After wheeling a bunch this weekend, I lost the ability to properly shift between all of the selectable T-case modes. First, I couldn't disengage 4WD while at a standstill nor going forward or reverse. I finally got it to shift back into 2WD, but I have a 4LO light blinking on the display in the gauge cluster. I also feel either down on power or in low-range. Other than that, no real sounds or observations.

Doing a little research, Titans and Armadas seem to have similar issues that require replacing the ATP (whatever that is) switch and the shift fork.

I was curious to see if anyone had similar problems or have heard of the solution. I'm going to make sure I can't shift into 4HI or 4LO later today. I've done the locker bypass already, but doubt that has much to do with it.

Thanks.

I recently encounter a similar situation. Got the 4WD light on, and could not engage the 4 wheel drive. I even got the alarm when I tried. I looking at all of the t-case switches to clean all the connectors. While checking all the switches, I noticed that one of them was cracked and almost in two pieces, as a matter fact, it completely broke with little effort from my end. I bought the switch at a nearby dealer (~ $50), and that fixed the issue. My suggestion is for you to do the same. Inspect all transfer case switches and clean all the connector with electric part cleaner. The cleaning may fix your issue, or you may find that one of the switches is broken. The switch that was broke in my t-case is spring loaded, so a little crack will develop into a full split with time.

Will do. I'm assuming water is an okay cleaner as opposed to brake cleaner or the like?

I don't like dealing with stuff that makes the zap-zaps.

I finally got the alarm you mentioned. Previously, I just could not engage any other position of the t-case. At least I'm stuck in 2WD, not 4.

Thanks for the help thus far.

NP. Like a mentioned, there are three switches in the T-Case that you should check. Start by inspecting them, disconnecting them and finally cleaning the contacts. I am hoping that will do the trick. BTW, the switch that was broken in mine was the one closer to the front of the X.

My SLIP and VDC OFF light have been on as well. It happened near the end of the SEXC run.

EDIT/UPDATE:
I'm going to recheck my wires and sensors again. I might consider changing out my T-case fluid, too.

I still haven't found the issue. My VDC/SLIP lights were for Codes C1143 and C1163, which are both steering sensors. I figured they were that. My steering wheel has been crooked for some time now.

But the 4LO light is unrelated, so I think.
