Also if you go wit the quest alternator outputting 150A your wiring in the truck was designed for a rating to handle 100A and the fuse protection is 100A so the most you will ever get out is 100A. Why?

The fuses are good. The voltage regulator in the altinator is failing. So I get voltage spikes up to 19 volts and then a draw from it when the truck is shut off. And last time I had the altinator out the bearings were starting to not feel to nice, and that was almost 2 yeas ago. And the quest altinator is $38 less than the xterra one.

Finally picked up a new set of motor mounts from rugged rocks. And while I have it in the shop I am going to try and install my on board air system. It is the heavy duty viair single compressor with 2.5 gal tank. Now has anyone installed anynthing similar.

Spring is here and I am finally getting around to doing some more work on the truck. I need to move the steering box ahead to clear the track bar but the body mount is in the way. I know a few people here have done this. So If anyone can help me out with a pic or 2 of how you re made the mount that would be great.

Life got busy so it took longer to get the x back out of the garage. Re worked the steering and track bar. Finished removing the abs and installed a pathy ww tank and a pathy master cylinder. Now some not in any order pics.

Sweet build, I like how you used the Bronco James Duff arms. I hope to go SAS on my truck here in awhile and I like seeing how others do it. Thanks for sharing.

I like how you have the pitman arm going the other way. This was the biggest challenge when I did my SAS. Trying to place the upper track bar mount without hitting the end of the pitman arm. One day I will do this mod. Looks good. One day we need to go wheelin. If you ever down here let me know.

Does look like it changed the angle of the drag link pretty forward tho. Not sure if that will cause more stress on the steering box mounting or not. Looks like lots of clearance tho as stated before.

Installed a sc rad and 96 quest alternator last night. Had to get a 1/2" longer belt to get the alternator to work. And Ina plus the rad was from an auto. So I am using the trany cooler as the heat exchanger for my on board shower. Still need to finish installing the pump. But should be done for the weekend.

Were you going to use an RV water circulating pump to a tank? You could tie in a 3 way valve, such that when the water as it circulates gets to a nice hot temperature just switch the valve and circulate into through the tank and bypass the rad. You could add water level in a tank, with temp control, that would be a sweet setup. I would go camping with you for sure.

Been busy and still haven't finished installing the shower yet. One thing I did finally get done, was replacing my passenger side mirror. It's been broke for over 2 years. So I started looking at it and my 88 parts pathfinder, and they looked kinda similar. So I pulled them both off and the old power mirrors off the pathy were a direct bolt on. Just had to splice the wires to get the power part to work.

Not much has happened over the winter. Need to do a bunch of maintenance to it in the spring. But I did get a killer deal on a 01 X for parts. It needed and out of province inspection and a power steering pump. Picked it up for $100.00.

this is an awesome build, and similar to one I'm starting - '79 D44, I'll be using the stock radius arms for now.
what did you use for the drag link ends ?

here's mine right now....

Another round of spring maintenance has begun. I need to replace my complete rad support. Got the old one pulled. Started to clean up one from my parts truck, it has no cracks but it is twisted. So wont be able to use it. Now to see how much a new one will cost. Or try to rehab the original one.

Also trying to figure out a power draw. Have a 97 ma draw. Pull the (Elec B) 7.5 amp fuze and the draw drops to 7-9 ma. Is that normal or above average draw.
