Removed stock plastic mud flaps, the stock running boards, the stock nissan decal on the box, a very annoying dealer decal on the rear, removed the front license plate spot, and stealthed the wheels ion black plasti dip.

July 2013 I think. 2 inch spacers installed by Prime and I at his house. Still feel quite guilty about breaking several of his tools. :(

I won't complain about the color. Nice looking X. No worries about not wanting big tires and stuff. It's all about making your Xterra exactly how YOU want it to be. We're here to corrupt...I mean help you any way we can.

Looks good man, as long as you are happy with your build, so are we! Can't wait to see more mods, I see a lot of those "not yet installed"

Yeah my closet is full of things that I need to install. I don't have any tools or space to do the work in however though. I have to wait until I can drive up to my parents house in PA. I'm mandated to live on the Air Force base since I'm a first term airman (2.6 years in now) so I have no space to do this stuff in. I do need to check out the auto hobby shop though since we apparently have one on base.

I have 2 new red decals coming from Graveyard Graphics too being sent to PA so I'll be putting them on. I'm about to order the 2 inch Nisstec lift right now....I had ordered one from PRG before but the owner pretty much scammed me. He was winning until I scammed him back for a refund. Funny story actually. So that one is not sitting in my closet.

My next project is to get the Xoskel Mouth Bar installed. I don't know how to do it, how to wire it, or how to connect it to the little OTRATTW switch that I bought either. So I'm going to start buying KC lights and figure out that bridge when I get there lol. I also really need to touch up that plastic piece on the door and I'm thinking of just plasti dipping that too. I do have 2 cans of the stuff left.

Yeah it is a good color lol. Looks good on yours too. I'm going to get the bigger tires...33's at least. I'm just not rich enough for the $1K lifts and $1K Hefty fab front ends and etc. I'm happy going the way that looks good rather the way that can knock a tree down on a trail lol.

Check out this thread, it makes wiring simple.

Appreciated :)

I'll have to look through them carefully.

Perhaps the Nisstec lift will be the next one though.

Just bought it. Set me back $300 (meh).

My NissTec 2inch spacer/AAL lift arrived in the mail today. Can't wait to put it on. Waiting to visit my parents so I can enlist my Father's help. That old man knows automotive like the back of his hand.

Hey man, if you want to turn some wrenches, I'm right across the Monitor Merrimack from you. Have just about every tool you could need and always a fridge full of beer in the garage. Just let me know, and we can make a day of it.....I've got a suspension lift to install as well. heh.

I love it. I sense the mod bug has not only bitten you but has now infected you with a little "mod alien" that is now growing inside you. Soon, it will plant all kinds of grandiose "needs" into your psyche and suck your bank account dry while it and your X grow into beasts.

Cool. I'll definitely keep you in mind! I don't think I'm doing any mods anytime soon. Perhaps in a few weeks.

My foray into the mud. 6/30/13. My Dad was looking at properties because he wants to buy a house in VA. I've never been mudding or off roading before so I don't know my limitations at all. So we came across this development that was undeveloped but was one of those buy this plot of land and we'll build on it sort of things. The roads we're all dirt so the family mini van couldn't get up there so the xterra got popped into 4 wheel and away we went. So....I tried to get across a mud puddle that did not seem intimidating at all. Looked easy and I figured it was cake.....only later did I realize it was a foot deep. Tried a tow truck....tow truck guy was like there's no way in hell I can get that out. The Developer came out and was a little miffed we we're on his land and said we we're trespassing (perhaps he should put some damn signs up) but was cool in the end once I apologized to him. He was able to pull the Xterra out with his truck and some 100 ft ropes. Several car washes later (like $35 worth of one of those pressure washers) and there's still mud caked in the under carriage and some sticks I can't get out. Also damaged one of the wheel well shrouds - gonna need some washers to put that in place since the screw heads ripped right through the plastic. So yeah...it's been an eventful day. Learned some lessons. Thank you so much to everyone who saw my Help Thread and actually took the time to Google Map out where I was versus where they we're. I really really appreciate that. I promised NewModelGuy I'd take some pics for you all though and here they are.

That's a nasty mud hole. Truck looks nice with the mud all over it though. As far as the wheel liner is concerned, at least it is not anything major. You can still drive your truck.

Hate that you got stuck on your first offroading adventure.

If there's one thing I've learned about mud it's stay out of it if possible, I don't really care for it. Plus like you said its a bear to get everything clean later. But if you do come across some on a trail and your unsure I'd check the depth and if you cross just keep your momentum up.

Your X is looking good though!

Oh yeah I had momentum for sure. The problem was it got so deep that the frame actually hit the mud on the other side. I think I'll be staying far away from the mud for a while. :)

Dude. If this weekend wasn't the craziest of all weekends, I would have seen that thread and been there to pull you out. I've got a customer in Toano and I'm fairly familiar with the area. It does suck that you got stuck on your first 4wd outing, but at least you didn't get any legal crap from the developer.

Oh, and did I mention? Never wheel alone. Heh

It's cool. I thought about messaging you but I didn't. It was quite the adventure lol. Was sort of fun looking back...but yeah learned some lessons haha.

I was up in New Kent county actually.

Don't feel bad, Mud is one of those crazy thing. It does not matter how deep it is. It can be so slick that its impossible to move. When I was closer to stock I almost got stuck in 1-2" divots. I'm not exaggerating when I say that. I got out of my vehicle and looked. all 4 tires were in these tiny divots. I even turned on my locker and it still took me 15 mins to rock my vehicle out. Once I got it to move 6" I was fine and could move again. I just parked in the wrong spot.

I have learned to hate mud. For this reason, but in the end, no harm (kinda) and no foul. You learned and now you are able to move on. I hope this one little getting stuck adventure turns you away from wheeling in the future!

What the eff made those ruts? Hell anyone not running 44" tires would've gotten stuck if they couldn't straddle the ruts.

Tractors probably. Its a developing housing development. There were some tractoes with treads in site. One tractor had wheels as tall as me.

Ahem..... Where is your XN Decal?

Pennsylvania lol. I sent it to my parents house. The AFB wont allow me to accept any letter or package above normal size. :kewl:

For the record...many things because of that are stuck in PA. My 2 inch lift...my new vehicle registration sticker....

Although unless it came in red I probably wont stick it. I don't even have my own forums on the X lol. :-/

So email creepy and get you an XN sticker in red. And then mail it to me. I'll drive across the water and stick it on your truck.

I wish I would have known about you getting stuck; I was right there in Hampton, even though I think it was probably up on jackstands. As for you being on the base, you'll probably see my X driving around there(here) then every once in a while.

EDIT: Nevermind, just realised you got stuck while I was still out of town.

Also, what Prime said, get Creepy to make you some in whatever color you like, thats how I got all my nifty bllue stuff on mine.

New picture although not much has changed. I did finally tackle those side plastic pieces and restore them to the original color. The overall effect was startling. The Xterra looks damn good.

Just for the record I would have driven right into that mud without any hesitation... You did nothing wrong (really) and more often than not - you would make it through anything that size without any trouble in the future. :kewl:

do you have a before and after? What did you use?

Before: http://s21.postimg.org/48705sczb/20130606_182754.jpg

After: would be the image I posted lol. Just have to look at the side.

I used some stuff they we're hocking at the base class 6. Hocking might be a poor choice of wording but I don't like those guys out there. They see you pumping gas...walk over and try to pitch you their product. It's annoying. Stuff works though.

It's called Shine Rewind. Can't find it on the web at all so I don't know what to tell you. Bottle really doesn't have a company listed on it either. Good **** whatever it is.
