We have a FedEx account where we get a volume discount based on how much we ship. We want to extend the opportunity to use our shipping account & discount at no cost to buyer or seller. This would help us build volume and lower our shipping rates as well as yours.
We just ran a test program and it went great. Our current FedEx discount rate is right around 12% from retail.
We ask that the item is packed appropriately for what it is, with some pictorial proof. This is a safety net for all 3 parties. We know the contents and the options before hand. All packages are sent insured for the amount of the transaction.
Options are
1. Setup a pickup at the source location by a fedex driver. This incurs a slight upcharge from fedex, we do not mark it up.
2. Print a label at source location, attach to package and drop at any place with a fedex pickup of the chosen service type- ground or express. An express truck won't take a ground shipment and visa versa.
3. We have a barcode emailed to the sender, sender takes the package to a FedEx Kinkos only, where they scan the barcode and print a label and check the pkg in.
We will provide a screenshot of our fedex account showing the actual shipping rate. We will ask for paypal payment sent as a gift before the label is provided.
