Door wont open

My rear driverside door suddenly wont open. I can't unlock it or open it from either the inside or outside. Anyone have this issue before? Any suggestions?

That sounds familiar, but I can't place it....I wonder if the latch needed grease.

My passengers side rear is like that. It will open from the inside fine. But from the outside you nearly have to rip the door off!

my friend in her tacoma broke the latch on her rear door when she bashed a decorative boulder in a parking lot, and the door acted like it was locked had to take it to the dealer and they had to replace the parts. Guess she really felt like rock crawling at the grocery store!

I got a rear door like that the latch is fubared. I tried greasing it but it always gets stuck closed. Ive stopped caring bout it now.

My hatch does it, I've tried greasing the latch and shooting lube into the lock itself. Nothing has helped so for now I just deal with it.

Finally I get to post some good news about this. Apparently, my Xterra is self healing because the door works now. All I can think off is I took it into the wild and knocked it around a bit and the latch must have come loose. Saved me money.
