ECM UPDATE !!!!!! TSB .... Important info

Razzmaniac

Bought an X
For anyone who has read any of my threads begging for help, I have found the answer.
After all the stuff I have done for routine maintenance, and to still have a low idle and rumble, I finally took the truck to the dealer.
They did an ECM UPDATE that solved every issue I have complained about. They told me that there has been a TSB about an ECM update after plug replacement.
My truck (2007) now idles at smooth, beautiful rpm of 800-875. No knock, rumble or anything else and was done for FREE because of the TSB.
I love my truck !!!!!!

I've got time to kill today while I'm in Memphis so I'm gonna swing by a dealership and ask them about it.

Ok went to the dealership and showed the service guy the thread so he knew exactly what happened. He ran my vin and no tsb popped on it. His opinion is that since it is a tsb not a recall that it only affected a certain portion of the run of xterras. He said if you guys are worried about it call a dealership let them run the vin and see if there is a tsb issued for your X.

TSB's can't be pulled up by Service Writers, it's the Tech computer in the back that's used for helping in diagnosis. Completely different system.

If the Tech see's the complain on the repair order, verifies the complain, then he walks over to the computer that's linked with Nissan's Technical database and looks for related TSB's for the issue. Then he compares the vehicle's VIN to see if it falls within range of the TSB, or even production date, model number, etc., and sees if it's applicable.

But a Service Writer, unless he goes into the back and looks it up, won't be able to see the TSB's just by putting in your VIN.

Look HERE for your TSB's. Put in your year, model, then leave the bottom two inputs blank and it will pull up all the TSB's related to your vehicle.

Good, sounds like you got a good writer then.

I used to see a lot of writers BS the customers when I KNEW there was a TSB on what they were describing. But walk up behind a writer while he's in the middle of a BS session and correct them and I might as well have shot their dog.
