I assumed since the my project ECM was EEC-V that it could be programmed by a friend of mine. But it looks now like I'll be getting another tuner.

Looking at the TwEECer RT. Since my ECM has the service port and can use it.

Because I've already planned on running no EGR system and was going to delete the rear O2 sensors.

Reason behind delete of EGR is for clearance. It's already going to be tight. I don't need another pipe going down beside the engine.

EGR delete sounds like the right thing to do. I would drop all emissions on that engine.

Sucks about your computer issue. There are lots of mods out there for EEC-IV systems tho. So I wouldn't give up on it yet.

Pulled the carpet out of it.

Cleaned the water out of the floor and let it dry.

Found a few places I'll have to make fixes to before carpets go back in. Which is weird because I usually keep it really clean.

I'm unsure if I want to clean it down and bedline under the carpets or just let it fly and throw the carpet back in.

Threw the carpet back in after touching up said spots inside. Wire brushed and primed with red oxide primer and then painted and spray can bedlined.

Did that a few weeks ago.

Also found I need new Hiem joints on my track/panhard bar on the SAS kit. Also needing an upper drag link end and a passenger side upper ball joint.

Going to do the tie rod ends as well. Some slop in them after getting it slightly hung up a while back.

Maybe I can find heavier Hiem ends to replace the ones I have.

Attempted a bit of diagnosis on the X the 15th. It's not a happy camper for some reason after it was dunked.

Clean the maf, open all the electrical connectors and dry them out
Cleaned the MAF before I attempted to start it. It was brown...

All other connections were dry between O2's and engine along with all connections on engine components.

If it's something not engine based... it'll just be limped until I make the jump on the V8.
Nice build man, any progress on the V8 swap?
Not yet. Just waiting on getting all the little things together so I can go head first into the unknown.

Looks to me like bad cats. That'd cause a misread on the O2 and the misfiring if they're clogged enough. Any code change after cleaning out the MAF?

The MAF one has cleared now that it's not mud brown.

And I don't have any cats.

So all that's left is O2 errors and a random misfiring?
Yeah.
It should be setting catalyst efficiency codes. It has a Cyl 2 and a random logged.

But the price of O2 sensors. I'll just buy some for the 4.6L since they are cheaper. And I need em.

Its been a while since this has had any activity.

Also, The Xterra has been neglected a bit due to the new DD I have.

But.. The diesel swap.. I wanna see that!

sent from my mobile command unit, ignore grammar & spelling errors

There's a 4BT being done. So I'll leave diesel alone. And the dirtymax swap was going to cost the amount of my Subi.

The 4.6 is prepped and waiting on non winter months. (Along with tax return money.)
Since I keep lifting it... And it doesn't fit in the garage anymore.

How much roughly were the parts? Depending on tax return I could even come and pick them up from you. It doesn't seem terribly hard to do, but with the semester starting up again soon there's no way I'd have the time.

And once again the direction changes with the Xterra.
After measuring the engine bay several times I came to the conclusion that the 4.6L Ford engine is just way to wide. If it does go in, It will be sitting way too high to allow enough clearance to pass exhaust between the frame rails and to help in enough clearance to make it actually fit between them. That will put the engine too high which also kills the 4.6L because of the tall intake I have. And that causes another issue. There's a firewall that has a low tunnel opening for the transmission. That means I have to cut or modify more than I would like to do. No worries though.

It will still become a V8.

Has to be fuel injection.
Only way I would consider it.

Of course. I would never do a carbed off road rig. "Oh, you're off camber? Well I'm just going to block one of the fuel jets with the float and stall. Is that cool?"

Nah. Ufck that.
