Good call on simple minds.

"Drive" - The Cars

"Take it Easy" - The Eagles

If I'm feeling a little more energetic -

"Little Sister" or "A Song for the Dead" - Queens of the Stone Age

A little aggressive?

"Shortest Straw" - Metallica

"Hooker with a Pen!$" - Tool

Anything Queens of The Stone Age.

Morning Coffee/Executive Committee Ramp Up = Foo Fighters, White Limo

Mid Day Re-Chrage = Metallica, Whiskey in The Jar

Home Commute De-compression = Green Day, Christian Inferno

Wheeling/Desert Camping music...anything by Stevie Ray Vaughan or Thin Lizzy...oh, and campfire music by Pink Floyd.

To the OP: Great thread BTW.

Pearl Jam - Do the Evolution

Bad Religion - Sinister Rouge

Bob Marley and the Wailers - Positive Vibration

Motorhead - Ace of Spades, Slow Dance, See me Burnin'...heck, pretty much anything by Motorhead

Rage Against the Machine - Bullet in the Head, Sleep Now in the Fire

I'm keeping this list really short, I could go on and on; I listen to everything. I left out all my country picks because there's just too many of them...

I'm going old school with Golden Earring - Radar Love - driving as fast as you could (usually over 120mph) back in the day... (not in the X but my 86 Toyota Celica Supra or the 84 Buick Grand National)... LOL

Mostly I am into A Day To Remember, Evan's Blue, Red, Chevelle, etc. but man, I have been on a serious 80s kick lately! Here is part of my playlist just from the drive to work this morning:

Quiet Riot, Mental Health (Bang Your Head)
Scorpions, Rock You like a Hurricane
Great White, Once Bitten Twice Shy
Ratt, Round and Round
Quiet Riot, Cum on Feel the Noise

I’m big on musical imagery…so it has to coincide with my surroundings.
For example:

Summer morning – The National’s “Trouble Will Find Me†album
Summer midday (outside the city) – Of Monsters and Men
Summer evening (outside the city) – Radical Face / Ray LaMontagne / City and Colour (all paired perfectly with bonfires)
Summer evening (in the city) – Blackmill / The XX
Fall – Brand New’s “Deja Entendu†album
Winter – Mumford & Sons / Emery

Driving specifically, I guess it depends on my mood. Usually comes down to The National, Every Time I Die’s “New Junk Aesthetic†album, and Between the Buried and Me.

Being a musician has made me picky about what I listen to ;)

LA Woman, or my favorite, Soul Kitchen by the Doors - Those are vote getters.

And the Black Keys, heck ya. Any of you listened through ChulaHouma??

Anybody out there a Black Angels fan? We're talkin Austin Psych on that one.

Nice! I've heard crickets since I posted and wasn't sure anyone knew what I was talking about.

Um, yeah. Its not exactly mainstream stuff, but oh man, I have to maintain some self control on the volume lest I blow another set of speakers.
