Heater issues

Hey all,

I have a 2014 Xterra that only blows hot air when the engine is revved enough for the truck to be moving. Fan never stops blowing but it blows cold air at idle. It also takes about 10 minutes to warm up. Any suggestions where to start?

Check your coolant level. That dying off of heat is a signature low coolant move.

Remember that the radiator only needs to be full when cold. The reservoir is the important part. Make sure everything is topped off.

As @Prime suggested, top off the coolant, then drive it for a couple of days and top it off again.

Now keep an eye on it to see it the level goes down which would indicate that you have a problem.
