Hey everyone so I received a CB radio for Christmas and bought the cable, antenna, and mount. The radio plugs right into a 12v cigarette lighter. Now here's my question: can I ground my antenna this way? I don't want to drill into the sheet metal of the truck for the mount since our New York winters tend to be heavy and I don't want to increase the chance of anything rusting. I want to install the mount on the back plastic bumper step. Since it's plastic it won't be grounding the antenna at all. So can I run a ground wire from the mount to a ground point on the truck body and instal it this way or would this be a poor way to go about grounding the antenna?
