Ok people for the most part all of us go wheeling and such my question just to see the different ways you everyone does it is.... How and what is the best/fastest way you clean your rig and get it back like it was before all the mud and such?

light pressure washer, sponge and soap for body... and for the suspension and stuff underneath, I use a wheel-cleaning brush and a bucket of soapy water to scrub the dirt off to prevent rust and squeaks... And then rinse off with clean water.

pressure washer, spray and ricochet it in every direction possible get underneath, if there is a whole in the frame I spray in it to flush it out. The body is cleaned every once and while by a sponge and soap.

Pressure washer for the win, the sooner you get at the mud the easier it is to remove. Around here there is a lot of clay, that when it sets up is like cement, someplace like florida it is much more silty and easier to rinse off, but gets further into every nook and cranny.

I don't understand those people that leave their trucks muddy for several days... that just ruins the paint lol. The way I do it is: get muddy, take a few pictures, then clean that mess off hahaha

^This.

Depending on how long it took me to get home from my off road foray and how tired I am, sometimes I'll wait a few days (or weeks if the weather sucks or I'm always going out wheeling) to wash it.

When I do, I use the garden hose with the spray nozzle on high to get the clumps of muck off, esp around the sliders and inside the wheel wells. Then it's a bucket of car wash soap and a washing mitt. :)

x2. mine has been dirty way more days than clean. i live on dirt roads so even the day i wash it my truck is still dirty.

and i think you're safe as long as you don't go to a car wash that actually touches your vehicle with those pad things. it'll scratch those little rocks in your paint. it's not a problem to buff out usually, but it's just annoying.

I still have dust on my dash from gone last year. I'm going to let it accumulate and someday when archeologists find my Xterra it will make an interesting carbon dating sample.

I clean w pressure washer. I have seen radiators get clogged w mud and cause the engine to run hot. I always spray my radiator with a garden hose and I am always amazed at how much dirt can get caught in there. I remember someone saying they also hit their alternator with brake cleaner after muddy rides.

I still have mud on my truck and dirt inside from nxm. I pressure washed it a few times, and used a sprinkler under it but no soap has touch my truck since about August. After all the snow and salt I will probably get under it with a pressure washer soon too reduce the rust.

I normally try to spray the undercarriage with a high pressure hose, then I wash the body like every other car, soap and water. I've also used a sprinkler underneath to get rid of some of the mud. It works ok. I think I'm going to wash the frame/brakes/leafs good the next time I rotate my tires and they are out of the way

I usually pressure wash the frame and suspension. Regular hand wash on the body. And if I'm feeling really bold, I'll scrub the interior down with some STP Son of a Gun. But I still have dirt on the dash from nXm. At this point I've got too much craziness on the outside of my truck to go through an actual car wash.

I usually just use a pressure washer. If I really need it cleaned up, I'll take it to a professional. But if I get it REALLY dirty and muddy, I'll keep it on there for a couple days to looks kick ass lol (I've seen people taking pictures of my truck when it's super muddy. I guess because I visited my parents, it's in a large city and no one out there really sees that kind of thing). But since coming to Alaska, my truck is always dirty. No way it could stay clean for more than a couple days. And it's not that "hell yea it's dirty as f***" look. More like, "Damn construction areas dirtying up my truck". So I usually get it clean maybe once a week.
