Which is why I'm waiting to do mine. I plan on buying new assemblies and doing the HID retrofit at the same time. So I'll just pull the old ones, install the new ones and roll.

It's pretty easy, just go on Amazon and type the bulb number and LED. So far I have done front marker, front signal, rear signal, reverse, license plate, dome, map and added a HID kit. Tail and brake are next along with a LED light bar. All of the LED bulbs that have bought off of Amazon have been great, no need to pay $50/pair like some sites sell them for.

I've been in the LED replacement bulb game for a while. I've tried several different brands including the expensive ones. Let me tell you. With things where brightness is concerned, you do get what you pay for. Like brake lights for example. I've been through three different types on two different cars. And yes, the ones I just put in the tail lights on the X cost $40. But I can attest that they are the brightest and most lens filling LED replacement bulbs I've ever seen. They also have an epic brightness change from running to brake so they are more noticeable.

The key to replacement bulbs is to have more side firing diodes that front firing. The side firing 360 degree diodes are what actually fills the lens on an incandescent replacement. The light coming out of the end of the bulb is really inconsequential. So the more you have around the shaft of a replacement bulb the more it is going to look legit and not just have some dim light in the middle of the lens.

I went the ebay cheap route but that was only for the reverse lights and dome lights for the important stuff I plan on spending the extra money. I dont want to get rear ended due to some cheap LEDs. The only thing with the dome lights is the way they are designed they have constant power to them when the engine is running and the lights ghost a little bit but that the trade off I guess

I haven't had that issue with the dome lights at all. That's really strange.

Yeah mine ghosted ever so slightly. Don't even notice unless the covers are pried off and your looking at the LED sockets. If you want to you can fix it by laying a cheap resistor across the terminals. Wish they were brighter especially the cargo lamp but that's normal for me. Still want lights on my hatch lid.

Expensive LEDs win again I guess. Mine don't ghost at all and they're plenty bright. I do like the loading lights in the hatch though. I might do those as well.

it doesn't bother me much its just really dim ambient lighting. The LEDs in the hatch I cant wait to do I forget what they are called but I want to get the single LEDs that are pre wired and put 3 or 4 down the rear pillars

Reguarding hatch lights I've considered picking up a few of the 12v led recessed lights on ebay. Cut a hole in the lift gate plastic and pop it in. Seems super bright. With the door closed they would shine forward lighting the cab. With the door open you would have nice overhead lighting.

Yeah I bought a strip like that over the winter. Was uncertain if the adhesive would stick to the rough texture of the plastic. Then it got cold and the silicone cracked snapping the strip in two before I could even install it. Sucks. Would be nice to have something with focused or sheilded light. That close to your face open light shining in your eyes could be more of a hindrance then a blessing. For now I just use a flashlight

Does anyone know of a good website with quality LED's? I have experienced with LEDs before and they just pooped out on me very quick. Has anyone replaced headlight bulbs with LEDs yet?
