Sounds like a head gasket. Check your motor oil for white or milky looking oil. Could allso pull spark plugs and check for colant in the cylinder. And do a compression check.

It's definitely not easy. Gotta pull the entire timing assembly, intake assembly, & pretty much all the accessories just to get the heads off.

My motor only has 150,000 miles. To get a motor on my budget will probably have like a billion miles on it. ( maybe not quite that much but you see where I'm going with that. ) I'm still trying to figure out how it happened. The truck doesn't leak or burn oil. It's quiet. Doesn't tap or knock. It has NEVER overheated. Even when it blew the temp was normal. I only noticed it by the motor running rough out of nowhere and the large amount of white smoke. I'm assuming it is just because it's 15 years old

Head gasket isn't too bad. You do have to pull everything off the motor. When mine went o was given the similar option. I went with rebuilding as a chance to learn how to work on the 3.3.

That being said I ripped apart and rebuilt the engine with the help of a friend that's a mechanic.

A shop can charge you from 1400 to 2000 I'm pretty sure. That's why I did it myself. Look at my build and see if that's a project you want to tackle

Where are you in MI? We are just over the boarder in North Central Indiana, In Elkhart. We can do this a lot cheaper than a mechanic shop. We should be able to get you back on the road this weekend.
