Hello there Xterranation! I have recently purchased 2 15 in kicker subs, with a 1500 watt amp, and was wondering how big of an alternator i should get, and how i can then lower the price as much as possible. I'm a huge cheapo. :D

I WILL be purchasing rooflights, foglights, and retrofitting the headlights within the near future, so just to keep that in mind.

Thanks in advance and good morrow to you good sirs!

If you're super cheap, go pull an alternator from a Nissan Quest or Mercury Villager.

I've looked at mean green but they're just too much.. And they're green... :/

If i pull one , do they bolt directly on or will there be cutting/grinding/trimming?

The Quest/Villager alternator is a direct bolt in for the 1st gen Xterra, as they all use variants of the VG33.

Make sure to check the amperage label on the alt before you pull it.. You're looking for the 125A one.. which IIRC came only on the 1999-2002 Quest.
