Dad had a 360 powered '82 Spirit when I was growing up. Ran 8.60s in the 1/8th spinning to the 60' mark case he wouldn't buy stickies. His first hot rod was a 72 Gremlin X he bought new along with a 304 powered CJ5.

He sold off all the AMC stuff when I was about 15 so I defaulted to GM because it was more affordable (and we had 3 GM farm trucks for me to rob parts from).

74 gremlin with 401, 71 Javelin with 401 and 79 Spirit AMX currently with 304, the gremlin is my daily driver.
