OEM Skids Question

What areas do the OEM skids cover?

Radiator, Engine and gas tank?

For a first gen it is only asteering/radiator skid and a gas tank skid not sure on the 2nd gens but I do know the 1st gens were weak. Found that out the hard way.

Offroad and pro-4X models of the second gens have more coverage, but the skids themselves arent all that sturdy. Not sure if they are as weak as the first gen rad and gas tank skids, but I imagine a good pop from a rock would expose them

Best I can tell from google and my own observations under my 2nd gen:

You have one at the radiator, which is standard for all Xterra's

Pro-4X adds the oil pan, transfer case, and fuel tank skid plates.

I consider them nice to have, but before I do any serious wheeling I would get thicker sheet metal plates.

So the census says rad, engine, transfer case, and gas tank for a total of four.

Thanks for the info.

I'm not needing any heavy duty. Just something to help protect and I'm trying to order new and buy used. Just trying to make sure I am searching for the right parts.
