I've been thinking about building a trailer for camping / kayaking trips and decided to draw up some plans and look up what i want for it. I will still do primitive camping with a tent but my overall vision is to have a trailer that can haul enough gear and supplies to allow me and the wife or a hunting/fishing buddy to go beyond the blacktop and be comfortable for trips. Especially since I'm looking to move from Georgia to Colorado in the next few months. Any input or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is that an adjustable tongue no it? If not I would advise building one in. Also I would break down the cost for everything you can think of and add 30% and you be lucky to stay in that budget.

Its not an adjustable tongue. I plan on running the tube through the end of the trailer and stepping it up to be a 2" receiver at the back of the trailer so we can haul bikes or a carrier. Im thinking it will be about 2k with the pricing that i did. I over estimated most of it. The most expensive part will be the water tank and pump.

If you are planning on running anything larger than the tire that comes with that trailer get a 3500lb axle right now. Dont even waste the time to put that one under it.

^that, also if you want to match the trailer to the vehicle. you will need spacers/adapters so take that into account when ordering/buying an axle.

Been searching for an axle. So far no luck unfortunately

I just custom ordered one was not that bad, Dexter 3500lb axle with the leaf perches were I needed them, Hub width right on. And E brakes ran something like $210. I got it through a local trailer place. So I did not even have to pay shipping.

Timbren makes an axle-less system with 3500lb capacity for improved ground clearance.
