Removing Broken Lug Nuts

I have a broken lug nut, a security lug actually, on my truck. Its pretty rusty. I would weld a nut to the end, but I cant even do that because of how the nut is recessed behind the wheel spokes on stock OR wheels. Anybody have any suggestions? Considering how bad it is, I have considered taking a hammer and a punch to see if I can just break it off. This sucker is in pretty bad shape.

IIRC there is a video on somebody using one of the broken nut removers for on the security nuts and was able to make it work. I am on a work computer right now and can't access youtube

hammer an impact socket on to it that is close in size, done that a few times when someone forgets the key for their locking lugs.

The problem with this (maybe, haven't tried yet), is that there is almost no nut left to grab onto. Maybe 2 threads holding it on near the base of the wheel and stud.

either use a BFH to drive an extractor over it, or a very small cold chisel to cut it., or put enough of a weld bead on the outside of the nut, that a socket will not spin.

hammering a impact socket on it that just barely fits over the end is the way to go~! I worked at a tire place and that is a great way to do it! also, try and use an impact to get it off...the initial impact will brake it loose if possible!
