So I am wanting to get an off road bumper finally for my X, and have been doing a lot of searching around for the one I want. I have narrowed it down between the Shrockworks and the Hefty, and I can't seem to make a decision. In my opinion both of them look pretty good, but I am not sure how they compare to each other when it comes to functionality. I have heard many good thing about the Shrockworks bumper, but not much about the Hefty. I hope I don't start some huge debate over which bumper is better, but I would really like to know what your honest opinions on the 2 are.

Why not jump in on the great savings from the insain group buy? Good product and you'll never see that pricing again anytime soon.

If you are stuck on getting shrock or hefty. And don't want one of the other bumpers. Like Insain Fab or hardcore offroad. There are a few things you should know. Shrockwork normaly has a real long lead time. 4+ months. Besides this both bumpers a good bumpers. But I would highly suggest one of the small companies that helps support the nissan community. These small companies are more flexible so you can get the bumper the way you want it. Typically shorter lead times and in general lower pricing for a product that is equal or greater value.

Sorry not helpful per your exact question but here are a couple pictures of bumpers available right now via the group buy everyone is mentioning (supposedly ends this Sunday the 15th)

plate bumper (depends on what you like, notice how nice and tucked in this one looks compared to the shrocks)

a tube style one (they are also offering a pre-runner style but I'm guessing you're not interested in that style)

If your two bumpers are hard to choose from, decide what your deciding factors could be and go from there.
- total cost (shipping included etc)
- time it will take before it's in your hands (everyone is right lead time on shrock stuff is pretty long)
- weight of the bumper
- if one of the companies you'd rather support than the other
- go with a brandname or something new/different on the block
- if you have other products you want to order from them (build a relationship)
- if you want matching products (e.g. do each of them offer front bumpers, rear bumpers, rear corners, slides, roof racks, etc)
- can you request custom options or don't you require that (e.g. would you rather have square holes for new LED style lights, do they offer that, etc)
- I always over think everything... thats why I hate shopping for this kind of stuff...
