These are the RockyMountainXcessories, or RMX, Sliders, built by a member over on TNX (he also builds the bumper mouth winch mounts). I know someone else posted them up earlier in this thread, but I wanted to show mine because I had them Rhino-Lined instead of powdercoated. Just wanted to put that idea out there. Makes them nice and grippy, even when wet.

Things I like:
1. The step doesn't extend outward very far, tucks in kinda close to the body, which I like, but it is far enough to extend past the farthest body line and far enough to use as a step.
2. They are very rigid and stout. I have lifted the Xterra completely off the ground with a small crane, using only the sliders. They did not show any measurable flex.
3. Installation is easy, but time consuming because you have to mount them up in order to mark a single hole, remove them to drill it, and them mount them up again. You can't drill the hole with them in place because the hole is too close to the support.

Things I don't like:
1. If I could change anything about them it would be to add a bit of a kickout to make backseat ingress/egress a little easier.

I'm now runnign White Knuckles. Posting a pic of them as they made a very slight update to the design of the kick-out step since the pic was taking in post #3 of this thread. Looks like they made it more of a "flattened circle" than that pic shows

Rocky Mountain x quit making those years ago

Edit:
He quit making everything years ago, not just his sliders.

Damn...I was hoping to find out who to see if they had any spare directions...I picked up a never installed set and the directions have had some water damage...but hey for $80 I cannot complain

Great info here, thanks. I have a couple questions. My Gen 1 sliders just bolted straight to the frame with the stock mounting locations. Do most choices for Gen 2 sliders need to have holes drilled in the frame? It looks like the Gen 2 stock nerf bars are bolted to the rocker panel? I see some bolt on options, is the stock mounting hardware and location strong enough? Not sure what is in the rocker making it strong enough to take a hit.

Most of the 2nd gen sliders need a hole or two drilled into the frame on each side. All the other bolts use holes already in the frame. Works fine.

Nerf steps bolt to the rocker. Those will not take an impact at all. Completely different mounting points than sliders use.

I see, thanks. Bolt on sliders are still being attached to the frame. I thought they would bolt to the stock nerf bar location on the rocker panel which, of course, is not nearly strong enough to take an off road impact. Thanks for the link, it helped me see how they attach. Now, just need to figure out which set to buy.
