My wife drives a 2011 pathfinder and it's about time for new tires, sticking with stock size (265/65r17) I want something very highway friendly, this doesn't really go off pavement besides occasional gravel, but It needs a tire that's great in snow,

Right now I'm considering the cooper a/t3 and falken Rocky Mountain ats

Any thoughts? Need something that's quiet also

I just took off my Falken Rocky Mountains after about 45k miles. I liked them, and they were decent in the rain. Unfortunately, being in Texas I had zero experience with snow the entire time I had them.

I have Hankook Dynapro AT's on my '05 Pathy for my wife. Great in the snow, quiet, no affect on mpg, and good enough off road.

We're they pretty bald at 45k?

They weren't terrible, but the fronts were trashed because I needed an alignment for about 6 months, and I think I only rotated them once.

If I remember, tomorrow I'll take a pic of how they look now. They're sitting in my garage.

Didn't have a penny, so that last pic was just for reference, but they had about 3/16 of tread left on the rears. The fronts were trashed, but mainly because of me. I believe the tread depth originally was 17/32...so yeah 11/32 gone in 45k miles. Hope this helps.

If I was buying a straight street tire it would be Michelin LTX M+S for sure. Michelin is still the only company that makes a truly round tire. And they last forever.

This. My step dad had the ltx ms2 on his f150 and got almost 70k out of them. They are expensive but if they last that long and ride that well the whole time I'd consider them for a strictly on road tire.

Well after doing a lot of reading I'm thinking the cooper at3 still, they got the consumer reports best tires award... I know michelins are good...but I have some on my ford escape and there miserably loud... So that leaves a bad taste in my moth about forking out more money for them... Next week I pick up a boat and need new tires by then... So I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the coopers $690 installed for 4 sounds good to me

I second the LTX ms2. I manage at Costco and the frequently go annoy the tire shop and they actually have a class that we send our techs too usually twice a year and you would not believe the impression that they get from those tires. Now the Michelin AT suck and the suck in the test the MS2 tire actually does better in the mud pit. Also there are two types of LTX ms2 tires one made for stores such as Costco and one that is the Michelin private label the only difference is the siping and it is minimal.
