are you looking on how to adjust them, or how to replace them?

either way they are not hard to do.

1. crack open jam nut on the end that you want to replace,(both if you are adjusting)
2. remove cotterpin from the castel nut on the rod end
3. remove castle nut, and use rod end removal tool of choice.
4. unscrew rod end off of adjuster.
5 re assemble in reverse order
6. take it in for an alignment because it needs it now.

Well now that i finally have the thread i was looking for to post up this question... here it goes.....

My rear main seal seems to be leaking. Not much but enough for me to notice. My question is.. how can i figure out how bad it is.. and more importantly... how can i replace it myself? A how-to would be amazing if anyone can find one.

Thanks! I do have a small output shaft seal. I already picked up a new drive shaft (well new to me), that is in better condition than what I currently have. I want to pick up some Emory cloth to smooth out the newer yolk before installing it.

Thanks Ratt! ill check it out.

Ugh. The bf is giving me crap about the solution that Ratt has given. He says he doesn't like that stuff for some reason or another. So i have to find a way to fix it the correct way. So I am still in need of a write up :groggy:

It worked for me. Mine had a slow drip.

The way you can fix it for good, is to remove the transmission and get to the rear main to remove it. Not only do you have to pull the transmission out; but you have to drop the cross members, most of the exhaust, remove the torsion bars, snake the wire harness through the tunnel, and the side of the motor.

EDIT: Sionnach had his fixed or fixed it himself, if memory serves me right.

I worked with gaskets at my internship with dana so I learned a few things about them. None of the bottle solutions are a permanent fix. The reason is because they basically cause the seal to swell to the point where it fills in the problem. Swelling however causes more cracking because you are expanding the rubber beyond what it should be. Also, the heating and cooling will cause the swollen rubber to crack even more. It may not be immediate, but it will happen. I can understand why your boyfriend is against it. If you want to treadlightly and not worry about it, your best bet is to find what is causing the leak and fix that. It may take a while, but if you plan to keep the X it will be worth it.

Good luck and I hope it isn't the rear main seal. From what I have seen, it is a PITA to fix for something so simple.

Well the timing belt and water pump were replaced in Sept by X-Mike. :) But the thermostat seems to be acting up. But i noticed that its when my temperature knob is on cold that the needle goes hotter. Today i drove with the knob on red heater side and i had no issue. Not sure if its just a kawinkydink or not. Does it sound like something that could maybe caused by another issue other than the stat?

Just the Rear main brake line so I can put in extended stainless steel brake lines and how to bleed the brakes properly and not get any air in the system so I can install a body lift:D

You just want to press the peddle all of the way to the floor, and use something to hold it there while you are taking off the brake line. Bleeding them is a straight forward event of pump, pump, hold, bleed, repeate.

I am looking for a write-up for a oba setup and I need some pictures on how to wire the compressor. Can some one help me in anyway?

Do you need a switch in there or does the compressor have one on there? Sorry to be a hater but maybe this will help. It should be just like wiring lights up just a bit larger gauge wire. As far as location you either need to have a hose that is accessible to all areas that would need the air or make the oba removable. Also now that I'm writing this I think OZ has done a write up about this. Search his name and I think it will come up. He put his in the front bumper though. Best of luck

It will all depend on where you want to put the compressor, how big it is, if you are going to run a reserve tank off of it, how big that tank is, and what you plan on running off of that compressor. Sorry about that really long question but you have a lot of questions to answer first. Deciding what compressor you will want, will be determined by what tou will use it for, and the budget that you have set for the purchas. The higher the duty cycle, and smaller the compressor, the more cash you will part with to get it.
