As most of you probably know, I recently traded my X in for a new Jeep. While I have not done anything to the new rig yet, figured I'd start this page up for future plans and current pics.

And as is common, there will surely be more plans to come .

Nice looking Jeep. Love them or hate them, you can't argue the capabilities of the Rubicon right out of the box. Who wouldn't love to have front and rear lockers, sway bar disconnect and all the other goodies?

Looks good man. They are seriously capable straight off the showroom floor. Especially the 2dr rubis. Hate to see you out of an X, but hope the jeep works out for you.

I hear the 2013 have a ton of rust issues... The v6 hits 3k miles and boom!

And if you use both lockers at the same time your balls drop 3"

Looking good there man!

I already know how awesome this place is :w00t:!

That is why I plan on staying over here to hang out and only got to Jeep forums when I need technical info.

Had a great day breaking in the new rig :w00t:. Ran two awesome trails outside of Boulder I've been meaning to run for a while Coney Flats & Middle St Vrain. Met up with a bunch of Xterra hommies and had a great day. I'll post up some photos once I can get them from the trail photographer (probably late tomorrow or Monday).

Pulled the POS plastic front "skid" this evening and replaced it with a Rugged Ridge front skid to protect the electronic sway bar disconnect (will grab some pics tomorrow when it's light out). Also called up Bully Dog this afternoon to upgrade my GT 40415 tuner to a GT 40440 so as soon as I get a new power cable I can throw the tuner on as well.

I've always been jealous of the easy disconnect for the sway bar. I wish X's had that. Congrats on an awesome rig off the show room floor! Did you trade straight across, or have to put money down as well for the Rubi? Did the dealership at least give you a good deal on the X?

Got what I felt was a decent trade on the X, sales manager even got involved to get me a bit more on the trade. Also put some money down to help lower the payments a bit.

I can vouch for the pos plastic skid. I think it's more to control air flow, but I ripped mine halfway off at Uwharrie and just pulled the rest. Looked way better without.

One of the only things I miss about my JK are the JKS quick swaybar disconnects I put on. I don't think anyone makes anything similar for the X. Rubis are even easier, you don't even have to get out of your seat.

Wasn't planning on doing anything quite this difficult my first go out, but I am glad as hell I did, so much more fun than the trail I was planning on running:w00t:

I'm glad you came. The Rubi stomped as expected and we could all properly chastise you in person. Glad you didn't disappear into Jeep-land. :D
Can't wait to see what you do to it!

I don't plan on ever disappearing into Jeepland, I have way too much fun with Xterra folk, and even though I no longer own an X, I still love the Xterra.

Nice thing about the JK, air intake and alternator are at the top of the engine bay, so unless I'm over the hood I should be pretty good in water (though I got enough on the engine to steam for about 10 minutes after).
