What model of Chevy Mc did you use? On wed I went to a local auto parts store and looked at one from raybestos for a late model. The problem the center to center for the mounting bolts was 3.5" whereas the stock one is about 3". Would you have a part number? Thanks.

Wow, I just sat and read your entire build thread. I love it, I love how clean it looks! Especially for the fact that it sits so nice with a SAS with the 33's, but with the 35's is does look beasty without being crazy, but the truck isn't jacked to the sky and looks like it'll roll over. The attention to detail is great and you've really built it with a specific direction and sticking with a Nissan-style look.

Big props for the build, keep it up!

With a little help from Casper... the garage is headed in the correct direction. I had lost drive with all the crap loaded up in there.

The Xterra has a few new tweaks... with another day into cleaning/throwing crap out there will be a few more pics to come.

My Xterra is made to be as low as possible and still flex out decently with 33/10.50's. The High Pinion 44 fit under there all full stuff... by limiting full stuff a bit.

Funny thing.. just happened to have most of the parts laying around to build a new Low Pinion Dana 44 (with a few "next build" tweaks). The added "low pinion" clearance should allow another inch or so of up-travel.

Is this ring and pinion weaker? Yep.. However, I have seen low pinion 44's hold up to 37's up front on Nissan Hardbodys. 33 inch tires are not a stretch from the 31 inch tires that came with these axles from factory.

I built this axle earlier on the thread.. re-post the pics to go with this post.

3 1/2 inch tubing with 1/3 wall.

welding done kinda... added some mounts for a sway bar before it was installed.

In process of relocating sway bar... checking axle for fitment. Actually moved axle ahead a bit.

One is a Hp44 with Jana54 Gears and Rodeo axles shafts/disks for a rear of a CJ5.
Another one is a Passenger Drop Hp44 for the same CJ5.
The one Behind the Xterra is the original axle from the X.
There may be other axles laying around in the pics... but I think that covers what you can see.

Information on the Jana---->CLICKY HERE

Back on the road...

33x10.50's with 7 inch wide wheels to tuck the meat under the rig. (Should be 50 state legal...)

Time to take the better sounding tranny and Calmini geared tcase out of the old HardBody for another life in the X.

Then some sliders like no other...

Gramps trucks are like unicorns. They're beautiful, majestic, idealized versions of reality. But they're also one off, and likely never to be repeated.
