Finally back to working on this, hopefully I will have it running in the next few months. Little snug but it fits, I need to pull the engine back out to get the headers on and replace the brake booster with a smaller sentra one. All I need now is a ECU and harness, radiator, heater hoses and make an exhaust and fix some odds and ends. Here how she sits now. Really would love to throw one in the X after this one is done.

She is sure going to look pretty. Any plans for exterior, or are you going for that sleeper approach?

It will be staying as is, already has a very rare Nismo front bumper, JDM Navan grill, german glass headlights. There is a fiberglass hood I want that is bulged a little to help clear the intake manifold, I'm going to have to cut the ribs and space the stocker to get it to close now. Sleeper approached has worked well, she has delivered many a beat downs in her time.

I love seeing this swap in S14s! I had thought about doing this in my S13, but I didn't want to notch the frame. Are you using the Z32 MT?

Yea Z32 transmission. Mazworx swap kit, transmission adapter, headers, intake and aluminum driveshaft, with the Xcessive alternator and shifter brackets (no frame notching or trans tunnel cutting).

Was a fairly productive month, sentra booster helped make room to get everything in, its quite snug in places but its in and everything is bolted down and headers are on. Radiator has been ordered from Griffin, bolt in for S14 240sx with the rad hose positioning for the VH45 so I can use stock hoses. I need to relocate the PS reservoir, redo my PS lines, sort out the fuel lines and get a hold of an ECU and wiring harness and tidy up some other things in the engine bay. The last big job will be to make an x pipe and exhaust.

Needed a little help (besides the underhood rib cutting)

gobble that's beautiful.

That is the engine I wish the 2nd gen Xterra/Frontier had as an option. A 4.5L V8 Nismo Frontier street truck to go head to head with the X-Runner would be a dream.

Picked up my radiator from Griffin friday and got it installed. Good quality all around and exactly what I wanted, complete drop in for S14 chassis (and thus able to use the S14 FAL Shroud/Fan kit I want) and able to use the stock VH45 rad hoses with slight trimming.

Also picked up a Billion universal PS reservoir off ebay for cheap, its one of the few universals that are short, and its pretty similar to the stock one just easier to make a bracket to put it where I want it.

How much did the Griffin radiator set you back? I was looking at getting one for the VQ35 I'm eventually gonna throw in my S13

I paid $569, which is just a tad higher than retail on the S-chassis radiators from griffin, which is about the norm for basic custom radiators.

Little more progress. Autozone had the drop in S-chassis flex a lite fans the cheapest (even cheaper than summit) and when I go to order they have coupon code for 20% off, free shipping to home and a $10 gift card, talk about awesome timing. Got them installed as well as the Billion ps reservoir, took me quite a few times to make a bracket I was happy with, I was going too complex and finally the simple iteration won out. Hoping to get the PS lines and Fuel lines wrapped up soon. I also scored an S1 ecu and a Nistune daughter board for a good deal so now I will have a tuneable ecu.

That'd be awesome. Maybe next year?

Definitely next year, it should be running in the next couple months, I really only need to redo the PS lines (I already had a PS cooler, just need to redo the cooler mounting and -AN PS lines for the different pump orientation and header clearance), engine bay fuel lines, ecu/wiring, and an exhaust. Exhaust isn't a huge deal, I will put turn downs on the headers and drive the hell out of it if need be.

What is your suspension setup looking like?

Sent via NSA satellite USDOD-1322

Mostly stock right now, Progress sway bars, Nismo powerbrace, Yashio Factory core support bars and tanabe tension rods I think is about it. The rest will get tackled after its running.

Pics no worky no more! :(

ugh, was trying to organize my photobucket and completely forgot about my links, fixed now.

Paid for an ECU harness, hopefully get it soon, this is the last piece of the puzzle to at least get it running now.

Hate it when that happens. I switched to Flickr for all my image hosting.

You know we're going to require video when this thing starts, right?
