Well I guess I'll make one of these things. It'll probably be anticlimactic but somebody may want to see!

So yesterday I picked a 2005 Volvo S40 T5 AWD with just 68,000 miles off of Craigslist. I needed something better on gas and to keep the wear and tear off of the X. Turbo AWD doesn't hurt either ;)

Nothing too major planned as of now. Probably some new wheels, couple LEDs swapped in, and maybe a few suspension upgrades to help with the cornering. It's gonna be the daily so I can't go too crazy, but I have to do something.. I just can't drive a bone stock vehicle haha

First little mod today! Need some opinions.. Amber or stick with what's there now?

Left is stock halogen, right is the white LED

Here is the amber LED that actually stays on the front corner of the X. This just has the single diode at the end, not all the way around so it'll look more similar to the white LED as far as its projection.

Just a couple of full shots with the white LEDs on both sides

Digging the Volvo! You know how I feel about the lighting. Always loved Volvos. Once my daughter is older and we don't need to haul around the world, I'm thinking about an xc60.

Thanks guys!

I am insanely jealous! I've loved Volvos for years. I'm picking up an XC70 AWD wagon this summer as a daily driver.

Enjoy it :)

Please do this to it...

I'm loving mine so far! And I have been snooping around on vleds and SBL.. and I've already found the complete LED conversion thread.. :kewl:

Obviously I'm going for a rally build, inspired by that exact picture ;)
A very subtle one, but nonetheless. All-terrain tires, some driving lights, a CB.

Nnnng, yours is pretty.

Gunmetal grey plastidip, for the win! It's little but it's something haha a few little mistakes but eh, not too bad. These will look great with the gunmetal grey wheels I don't have yet ;) haha

If you are going Konig, get the Integram. They are SUPER DUPER lightweight. Love mine and they are the graphite color.

At one time I had an 07 S60R. What a fun car. Until a young girl totaled it for me. 50mph straight into the trunk. I still miss that car. Enjoy yours!

I love subies too and would probably give this up for just the right one. I really wanted something like this..

But evidentially, people around here think theirs is made of gold. Don't get me wrong, I love the Volvo. I believe it's faster than a stock WRX too! The only thing I would change about it is the tranny. I wish it was manual. Other than that, I love it!

By the way, I replaced the headlights yesterday. My original plan was to add HIDs but with the Volvo being so finicky, especially with the headlights being DRLs and being on pretty much all the time. I decided just to add the Sylvannia zXe's and I must say I'm pretty impressed. Took it for a drive last night and the light was definitely improved. I just need to angle the headlights up slightly and I'll be happy.

Also, I have some Hella Optilux yellow fog light bulbs that should be coming in tomorrow. Can't wait to see how they look!

Pictures! The driver side has the new bulb, passenger has the old. As they say, pictures doesn't do it justice and it being daytime didn't help either.
