    The Grackle

I kind of discovered it by accident on one of our drives to Ohio when I got bored and was just trying out different settings. Off the highway it's annoying but really nice when you're on long drives.

That's a good start haha. I think one of the largest contributors is on the Bullydog I can set the accelerator sensitivity to low which keeps the cruise control from always overreacting to speed changes. With that lowered it's much more gradual like some of the modern rental cars I've driven.

Evicting My Squirrels (Replacing the Blower Motor)

It was the only thing that's kept them out of my truck, as soon as I found those holes and plugged them I stopped finding turds in the engine bay and the filter has stayed clean.

After checking everything again, still can’t find and leaks. I did find that I forgot to reconnect the alternator body ground at the base of the battery though after I installed the body lift last year. Weirdly I went a couple hundred miles with no codes until last week on a trip to...

Evicting My Squirrels (Replacing the Blower Motor)

I was able to keep them out of my truck by pulling off the wiper cowling and shoving balled up chicken wire into each of the lower corners. There’s a huge hole on each side I think for water drainage where they were getting in that area under the cowling and then into the hvac filter area.

Somehow I'm still getting that P2A00 code and I'm running out of things to check. It seems like the leak should be really easy to find because if I clear it the thing pops back up within a half hour of driving. I think I might put the original o2 sensors back in and see if that makes a...

    Gen X's 2010 S

Looks good! And yeah the sticker has to be on for the HP boost to be activated haha.

That's a good idea and an easy place to start. I remember replacing those a few years ago but they were aftermarket boots so I could see them having developed a leak by now. I hope it's not the plastic manifold, last year I found a small leak in it after my radiator cracked and sprayed fluid...

Finally rewired my front light bar on a switched ground circuit. Since I already had the fog stalk wired into a relay so I can control them independently from the headlights I put the light bar on the same circuit with the ground connected to a rocker switch next to the power window controls...

    The Dumb Question Thread

I've been running Gates for at least 100k, I've never had one break but I replace it every 30-40K and keep the one I took off as a spare in the back.

    Gen X's 2010 S

I'm guessing the armrest on top of the center console. The car I had before the X had a much higher one that you could almost lean on while driving, the low one in the X was the first thing I noticed on the test drive.

    Gen X's 2010 S

I've hated the lower center console ever since I got the X back on 06, still haven't come up with something better. Some people have bought an extender thing, I've seen them on Amazon/eBay for not a lot of money. I think they're basically a foam block that you attach to the lid to give it some...

    The Grackle

We drove up to Cincinnati to visit family for Christmas with the roof box on, now I wish I had bought one years ago. We had tons of extra space in the X for once and mileage was barely affected by it. At 80mph I lost 1-2 mpg and with the cruise set at 60 we got 20 mpg.

I mounted up the Mercedes roof box I bought last summer for the first time, fits perfectly. With the rear hatch open there’s about an inch of clearance and I pulled everything from the wet box that I’d need so no issues there.

    The Grackle

Over the weekend I pulled off the rear rotors to adjust the parking brakes since on both sides I didn't bother tightening up the shoes and loosening the handle last time I replaced the rotors. The first thing that went wrong was the key for the locking lug nuts that came with the X when it was...

    The Grackle

I finally had a chance to look closer at the old knock sensor harness, and found what I think was the problem. It's one of the of the few places I've seen on the X where they didn't make the wiring the exact length needed, the connector closest to the firewall has the same length of wire as the...

    The Grackle

I finished up the mounting points for the box, it was easier than I thought it would be but the tradeoff is I don't think I'll be able to keep the crossbars on without the box mounted unless I buy a wrench to fit the crossbar clamp bolt when mounted upside down since the bolts for the rack are...
