Correct me if i am wrong. At 30K the F/R diffs and TC should be changed. How about the AT fluid? Already at 30K or could you let this go till 60K? Is anyone really changing their brake fluid every 15K?
I want to keep up with these things, just not overthink them. lol. I am currently at 18,500K
Replaced the cabin filters monday. They were not too bad. I think they could go every 30K.
Should the fluids be changed at 30k? Probably. Do they need to be? <shrugs>. With an AT, do the fluid changes now, or you may have problems doing a change later. My rear diff probably went 150k without being changed, but it was never submerged either. Oh, and the diff fluid still looked like new.
Changing the brake at 15? Brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it will absorb water. Since water turns to steam at around 150* lower than brake fluid, should you do a lot of hard braking, you may reach a point where your pedal softens up or you flat out loose your brakes. Now, I believe that if you keep your fluid topped off, and bleed out the fluid from the caliper instead of returning it to the master resivoir when you change your pads, you'll be fine.
Am I wrong? Maybe. In the end its your vehicle, so maintain it as you see fit. There are thousands of cars in the road that only get engine oil changes and that's all. And I bet they only get that done because the sticker on the window or the computer tells them to.
