I am in the thinking/ planning process of converting the winch that I currently have and use to from a steel cable to synthetic line. at this time I have a champion 8000Lb winch with steel cable, sitting in a receiver cradle ( going to try to properly install it in my bumper soon)
my questions are:
1. since I have used this winch for a couple years with the steel cable, is there any issues with me just sanding down the drum to ensure there are no nicks and burrs on it good enough?
2. I am planning of changing the rollers out of my current fairlead to the daystar ones designed for synthetic since I am soon to be required to have a front licence plate. any issues to be expected with this idea?
