Hey guys.. Most of you know me.. Im the idiot that run's the nXm / seXTERRA and now XN.
Ive been on forums since 2005..
This is what first brought me to Car forums
I bought this Honda Element 2wd new in 2005. This over all has been one of the best cars I have owned. MPG were great for the 4 banger, and You could really haul a lot of gear. At the time I owned this car I was Hauling my sick daughter to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital weekly and needed something the whole family could be comfortable in. As many of you guys know or will learn being on these forums, STOCK is going to last long.. So the Mods started moving on...
Me at Paul Brown Stadium
I added the 18's, new sound system, TV and Injen CAI.
Well a few years went by and my needs started to change.. Sadly my daughter passed away and this car sorta reminded me of her..
I had always had boats.. Bad thing about the Element was that 1800lbs towing.. Wouldn't even pull a Jetski.
Welcome in the 2006 Nissan Frontier 2wd
This has been by far the best car I have ever owned.. The 4.0 V6 is a work horse.. I could get up to 25MPG on the Hwy and would avg 18 in my area.
Life is funny some times.. The economy started slowing down, and As a Land Surveyor if development slows down..so does my work. In 2006 I was working 60 Hours a week and could have worked more if I had wanted more OT.. By 2009 I was down to 30 hours a week.. So yeah.. not looking good eh?
In April 2009 life sorta helped me out.. It was Good Friday and Murfreesboro,TN was hit by a tornado.. I was out in the field working when I got the call storms were moving in.. I made my way to the shop and moment after this hit..
'
This is right after it hit my shop..
and this is what I seen after the storm..
The day I picked to have 3000 dollars in music gear in my truck.. a storm happened.. Some will say well you were luck, and will get paid for that gear..
Yes and no.. Most of it was vintage music gear.. I got paid but not how I like to see gear leave me.
Well now I needed a car / truck.. I knew the economy was going to crap, so I didn't want a big car payment. Let me tell you when a tornado hits your town and many thousand people loose their cars... You better jump on what you like I had loved the NissanFrontier so I knew it had to be Nissan
Thats when XTERRA entered my life.. I had 2 requirements.. 4x4.. and Nissan
The day I brought Turk home
And this is what Turk looked like when he left me..
Due to the economy I was laid off in Nov 2009.. And by Dec 2010 I couldnt keep making payments on the Xterra and the wifes Maxima..
Like most Americans.. I was over tapped.. Bankruptcy.. With 5k in hand I went to my local credit union to pay off Turk.. The credit union would not let me buy a truck I was paying on.. UNLESS I added 3k of credit card debit on the Xterra... I loved that Xterra.. but I could not end up paying 10k for a 5k truck.. So I de-mod'ed the Xterra and gave it back to them.. Side note.. it went to auction.. 2k is what the bank got.. KARMA!
So Jan 2011 was a very low point in my life.. My truck was gone what to do?
Jeep maybe?
Like I sad.. This was a low point in my life.. I bought this 1990 YJ for 5k.. These things are fun with the top off heading down a road.. Thats where the fun stopped for me.. Off road it was awful, and the money it took to keep it running.. Im sure there are some good ones out there.. but this was NOT one of them..
So I owned this Heep from Feb 1st to May 1st.. I sold it At Noon and by 2pm I had this..
2000 Xterra bone stock.. Had 200K miles on it but for what I wanted it for.. I was cool with it.. oh and paying 3800 helped I had mod money left over from the Jeep sale.
How it sets right now..
I have been wheeling since 1998, Mostly for my job.. It was nice to be paid to wheel
I Currently run the National Xterra Meet, seXTERRA, and now Xterranation.org
I also own B&M Lighbars, www.bmlightbars.com
