Nice off roading pics! Glad to see an X out in its natural environment. I like what you did with those Hanma's.

Thanks dudes & girl!

It's not the most convenient of places, being four hours away, but it's my favorite place in the state and it's completely worth the drive.

The Terradactyl has officially been snorked.

Thanks to Jay for the assistance, and many, many other snorkers in the Nation for the pictures and information.

Took a few hours to mount & hook up to the air box. Not as intuitive as I had hoped, but it got figured out.

Nice!! Glad I could be of assistance. How did your intake pipe work out?

Worked out alright. Couldn't use any of the pieces that came with it; since I worked under the fender without taking it off, I couldn't bash the inner fender in. Used some 2" flexible pipe and went right to the box. Jammed it in there, clamped it, sealed it. Good to go. And that A-pillar screw trick under the weatherstrip? Brilliant.

And the WHOOSH that I hear from the snorkel head is just...magical.

I love driving home with my window down listening to the engine growl through the snorkel as I climb the mountain. Nice job on the install. For me the hardest part wasn't the actual work, it was making myself drill that first hole.

Psh...drilling holes is easy. I can drill holes like a champ and it doesn't scare me at all.

/want me to come drill some holes in your truck?
//I will....

I should not have seen this.. Some how the snorkel has eluded my mod grasp for a while, but it is very taunting.

Great job on it and when I get my snorkel, I will be in touch with you two guys on the inside scoop

Roady, be aware that there are two kinds of eBay snorkel. A plastic one that has a crappy cardboard template but much better (IMO) mounting hardware. Which is the one I have. And the fiberglass one that has voodoo mounting hardware but an actual cross section of the snorkel body to use as a template.

I went with the plastic because it actually has some give, whereas fiberglass just breaks if you hit it too hard.

Jack has the fiberglass one.

OPTIONS!!!!!

So many options! Well, two.

Ditto. Well, minus the mountains. And you nailed it - the hardest part was looking at that hole saw and thinking "alright, buddy...be careful." Nervewracking.

But anyway! Thanks guys. It's done and functional and looks great in early morning sunlight.

Hmmm. Might need to look into the SC radiator. After an hour in today's 85 degree heat, my engine temp needle was nearly jumping off the gauge. Granted, I had the A/C on all the way. But even with the cold air from the snorkel, I suppose I'll have to start looking for the bigger radiator. Plus, that should help when I need to tow.

Also, there's a chance that I'll be heading down to FL next year...if the X can't take the heat here...it'll be in trouble down there.

I'll holla when I'm down there again in January. The only worthwhile thing I did while I was there was Wekiva Island. Including paddling up to the spring. That was a good time.

That's the plan man :) Have a nice little 1st Gen party down there.

My Gobi finally arrived (after 2+ months).

And thanks to Roadwarrior and Snickerdoodle, I found more stuff to paracord.

It. Is. Awesome. It provides such a good grip. Who needs steering wheel covers?
