I know a fair number of you go kayaking or SUP-ing, etc. Let's see those pics of you in action on the water or the water equipment creatively mounted on your rig. Let us know where you went paddling and what kind of boat you're in.
I'll start. I'm disappointed by the few pics I have found of me kayaking. Sad.
2009 Warm Lake, ID (and my stock X!):
Back in 2012 at Lucky Peak State Park:
I used the Yakima Mako Aero Saddles attached to the stock X roof rack.
The boat is an Old Town Otter. I've had it since 2002 and have used it all over the U.S. It's certainly served me well.
(@Warm Lake, ID)
This is an inflatable (don't remember brand) borrowed to run the Boise River through Boise, ID (2013):
And more of Lucky Peak (2013):
From 2014, post-X, i.e. now Jeep...
Snake River near Heyburn, ID (we used the Subaru Outback for the 3 boats):
Stanley Lake near Stanley, ID in Sawtooth Mtns
This was before I got a roof rack. The kayak was soooooo not stable with the straps over the roof on foam blocks tie-down method.
Now I have Yakima 1A gutter mounts with 78" bars:
The second boat is a Wilderness Systems Tsunami 135. I rented it for the day. LOVED it! Now trying to find a touring 14'-er
