I just swapped back to my factory rims and wrapped them in a set of 265/75/16 cooper discoverer st maxxs. Anways I got in it today and cut it sharp. and noticed I have no clearance between the tire and lower control arm. If the suspension compresses You can hear it rubbin. I have a 2 inch body lift and the front t-bars raised. Will adjustin the steering stops out fix the problem or a different backspaced rim gonna be my solution. I dont remember having this problem before. I there something else happening that im missing. Thanks for the input/ advice

Thanks man, thats what I was thinking but I cant figure out how they've got messed up. Would they have messed with the stops while doing a front end alignment? They adjusted for the camber bolts being frozen

No alignment necessary after turning out the steer stops, but you do want to back them out (all 4!) as evenly as possible.

The only way I can see this happening is if the new tires are chunkier on the corners than the old ones were.

thanx for the reply and the heads up...Idk whats going on. I had cooper discoverer stt mud-terrains on my stock wheels for a short time and had no issues that I can remember.... I got st maxxs now and cant seem to figure out why they would rub and the mud-terrains didnt

Hm. Yeah that's kind of strange. Maybe while the guys were doing the alignment they saw that the stops were turned out a little bit and turned them all the way in? They're completely unrelated to anything alignment related but you never know.

Here's an idea though. Have you taken your X in for the steering shaft recall? Maybe the dealership turned your stops in to factory settings?
