Surprisingly it did hold up. I dont know how though.
So the story. After a Friday of wheelings some trails, Tucker, who was the trail leader, offered the choice of going on one last trail to people. Out of i tihnk around 20ish trucks, only 4 wanted to stay. Tucker, these 2 gen 2's, and I.
THe first thing Tucker says is "I've never been on this trail so I dont know what to expect."
Now, I was still in 2wd, as I thought my CV axles were going bad. About the second hill up I get stuck so I just said screw it, I'm putting it in 4wd, eff these ghetto CV's. (Later on at camp that day I found out my $wd works just fine. The noise I thought was bad CV's, was actually a piece of rusted off heatshield spinning against the spinning front driveshaft. :/) Now, there is no way I could have made this trail in 4wd, it was too slippery, too wet, and too many rocks.
So we continue down the trail, having to stop every 2 minutes or so for Tucker to hop out and clear away some of the brush., when we come to this enclosed area. Straight ahead is the seemingly 2 foot deep water with mud at the bottom, to the left is a slanted way up and over and past the water, and to the far left is a smaller ATV route. So obviously this left us with 2 choices. Go forward or turn around now. JK
But left to up and over, or straight into the dark deep smelly waters. We all picked to go left. Tucker goes, clears it fine. Gen 2 goes, clears it fine. Other gen 2 goes, clears it fine. I go.
Either I didnt take the slant hard enough, or having those trucks go first loosed up the land or something, but my rear tire swung out and over the little cliff over looking the water. My thoughts are, "I'm in 4wd, I should just be able to drive straight and pop my wheel back up on level land."
I try to do that.
What actually ensues is BOTH my rear tires hanging off the ledge, my left one not as bad. Finally tucker notices and I say" I'm off the cliff arent I?"
He says "Yeahup."
I take a deep breath, try to shoot forward again, doesnt work, I slip more off, I start to slide back and up into a slowly flipping titanic position. Which everyone throws their weight on, and i throw my weight away from the flip, which I honestly think is the only thing that stopped me from flipping. After changing my underwear, one of the gen 2's turned around, 90 degreed me off a tree, I slowly AND I MEAN SLOWLY backed up into the much, back up all the way to where we first saw the obstacle. Put it in 4lo, and just powerhouse through the water. I have 33's and a pml, and you can only see my fenders above the water. It was crazy.
Whats even more funny, is that my mother texted me before i left for the trip saying, "Be safe, i have a bad feeling about this trip."
