After 3 years I finally raised my front end to level out. (My X is 2wd)
On the way home from my dads garage I swear it handled bumps and potholes better than before. My cheapo Gabriel are less than a year old by the way.
So, am I imagining a smoother ride?

Yep. All you did was adjust the preload on the suspension so you have more down travel and less up travel.

I have to replace my leafs (sagging) so I thought I'd add the AC shackles, but didn't know if I had to swap shocks. Thanks!

As stated above, all you're doing is adjusting where the front end sits when not under any stress, so stock length shocks are fine. When you change the arms for more lift, that's when you need longer ones

You really only need longer shocks for the back. If you aren't off roading then the stock length will be fine.
