Ooo looks so pretty. Best color X ever. *jealous* And naughty naughty for the last pic...even though it is the best one.
Thanks. I love the color as well....now if the paint would just stay on. :groggy:
Racer, can you give me the specs of your rear shocks plz. (length, ext length and stuff length)
Sent from my DROIDX
Mostly pictures..
I am planning on getting the Articulator package from AC, just wondering how you like it and what not
I like mine just fine. In the rear it does what it was advertised to do by allowing more flex and keeping the the rear tires in contact with the ground. The on road manners are pretty good not really much different then a standard 3" lift. You just need to get used to a little extra movement going up curved on ramps and turns at speed. Then again slow down and it's a no issue.
I have seen others say they feel the SAW TB's are harsh and that the 3 pack is the same way but I don't feel it. I like firm suspension so the kit fits me very well. Front brake lines are optional I think but the rear you will probably need. I changed all 3 because I despise the feel rubber brake lines give so you may be OK with just the rear but with front and rear SS lines the system just feels more firm.
Plan on having to get under the truck and possibly create some clearance on the last cross member where the drive shaft crosses, my DS was just barely kissing the cross member, as AC advises that some trucks will have a problem there. I pulled the drive shaft and after an hour with an air hammer everything was good to go.
I was reading this in your build thread on CX.. I want to say that I really want the package, but also looking at it as "The X is my daily driver" I am also thinking that I could wait, put the money into the X to get me to the stage where you were.. the "PML and UCA" combo
I like this, and it later allows me to AAL and maybe then the revolvers.
How do you think revolvers would hold up with stock leaves? I (think) understand that at that point either the leaves or the cross member would be my limiter, but also, would they be worth it at that point?
Well in that pic the truck has PML, UCA's, 2" BL, and the shocks for the articulator lift and it flexed pretty good like that. The simple fact is they do not flex as well with the 3 pack AAL. The reason I have the 3 pack is that my stock pack was shot, this pic does not show it but later they really flattened out, and I wanted the extra ride height created by the 3 pack to help get the front leaf spring mounts over obstacles. That and I carry a lot of spares coupled with the weight of the sliders and the plates and they were really flat and needed some help.
I see no reason why you could not run the stock pack with a revolver. One of the things that I think is great about the lifts on the Xterra is that they are fairly modular so the stuff you start with you can just build up off of later rather then replacing it. So yeah PML shackles, UCA's and say the articulator shocks would be a great place to build from. Without the revolvers you should not have an issue with the cross member and should not need the brake lines. If you decide to go to revolvers later on you can always find someone tho buy the PML shackles.
Or you can give them to a friend in need
^^^ when you do the AAL the stocks hackles help decrease the rake. With the AC shackles the back sits a little high for some people. I think anyways lol
Goof.. RacerXXL gave me his old ones..
