Just picked this thing up last week. Love it for so many reasons.

-Cheap ammo
-Portability
-Customizability (Is that a word? Spell check says no.)

Out the door for $320, and came with a bunch of goodies.

Like this awesome bag.

And the standard Ruger padlock, bag strap, 10-round mag, and rail.

Fits nicely in the bag with plenty of room for extra stuff, both inside & out.

...like this scope!

And the best part - it fits comfortably up in my LOBO.

Absolutely great gun to have, I have put thousands of rounds down range with a couple of them. I have often thought of getting one and put a folding stock on it for portability, but since I already have 2 different 22s I could never justify another.

I'm taking it to the range tonight for the first time. I rented one before I bought it, so it will be the first time with MY rifle (and scope).

Also I should mention that it's "ladies night all day" at the range. Nothing screams "masculine" like a small caliber rifle and ladies night -___-

It's not the size of the gun, it is how you use it.

Is that what she keeps telling you??

That's a killer deal!

I've got a 10/22 as well. Pistol grip stock, decent scope, and about 5 10rd mags. I bought one of the cheap 25rd mags, but it was garbage and would never feed right.

I. Want. That. Bag. Btw

A quick side note on the 25-rd 10/22 mags:

Make sure they have metal feed ramps, like the Butler Creek Steel Lips. I have several and they've never been anything but reliable. I had the old BC Hot Lips (same mag with plastic feed ramps) and a couple of other brands, and my rifle was endlessly jamming. I thought it was the gun and was ready to swear off Ruger altogether. Turns out it was just cheap mags.

Lolz. Also you cannot have it. You got awesome sliders, LET ME HAVE MY BAG.

Turns out it was just cheap mags.

I have Ruger brand 25-round mags on order. None of that cheap stuff. I've been pretty happy with my Ruger products.

A 10/22 has been on my must have list for a while, really thinking I should get the take down now

Do ittttttttt. Love this thing. Do you see how easily it fits in a LOBO? It's like it was meant for it. Plus you can get everything you need for less than 500.

More goodies on order :)

Got my folding stock in! It's pretty. Has a pistol grip.

Pros:

Good quality
Looks cool
Pistol grip feels much better than the stock grip

Cons:

Pricey
Stock folds over onto the shooting hand, which...doesn't make any sense

I really wish I could get this picture to display properly, but I've been battling with Photobucket for 1/2 an hour...

I wanted this rifle to be an all-around carrier, adding the scope for long-range and the pistol grip for short range, BUT...I don't think it's going to happen that way. The scope is great, but when I fold the stock to use the pistol grip at short range, it's...awkward. The scope gets in the way, and there's not really a good way to hold on to the forend.

Honestly, if I could find a way to combine the 10/22 Tactical with the 10/22 Takedown, it would be PERFECT. The Tactical provides the pistol grip and folding stock, along with the picatinny rails to add a vertical grip on the forend.

/sigh.

Problem solved!

  • Ditched the scope for a red dot sight (makes more sense for close range and long range) - has a vital quick-release
  • Foregrip with an extremely bright LED light - also with the quick-release
  • Ruger brand extended mags (25 round) - even with the backorders / shortages, they took three weeks to get

And finally, picked up 200 rounds for 7 dollars :uhhh:

I knew they were cheap, but I honestly thought it was a typo.

I wanted to update this, mostly because I forgot about it.

I took all that tactical crap off. I made the mistake of trying to create this all-encompassing short / long range rifle.

Instead, it's long-range only. I took the foregrip thing off and put the red / green dot on my Mossberg 500. The rifle now has a scope on it, the 25-round mags, and the bag holds SO much:

4 25-round mags, safety glasses, rounds, and room for more. It's really awesome. And so damn accurate.
