I thought there was a thread on here about both of these but I can't find it....

Anyways, Is the scangauge worth the extra money or should I get the Ultragauge. I got a buddy putting an ultragauge in his Tacoma, and says I need one. I've kicked it around but put it on the backburner. Idk what do yall think?

I've owned both. Scan gauge is way better. No compaison. I sold my ultra.

The ultra is super cheaply made a buddy wiped the screen with a napkin and it scratched it like sandpaper.
The screen is very hard to cycle thru with its single button. Eventully you just decide its not worth the effort and stop carings about the readings.

My friend and brother had one. My friend tossed his. My brother sold his and now talks about buying a scan gauge.

Scan gauge has way easier to access info. Way easier to mount then the suction cup tripod odd mount crap. Much higher quality. Way way easier to use perhaps that's the most important part

I live my ultra gauge.. I have the screen set to the 4 main things I look for speed, instant mpg, avg mpg, and radiator temp

For what I paid for it I feel it's just what I needed.. You can pull and clear codes with it..

It works even better with the gen 2.. More options..
I have one in both xterras.

I have the ultra gauge too. Yes, the button on the back is cumbersome. I bought it to read and clear obdii codes and it does that just fine. I believe yhe ultra gauge has a larger display as well. Bottom line, the ultra gauge is a good value and i would recommed it.
