Uwharrie Trip Next Month??

robcarync from CX and I are trying to get a little wheeling trip to URE some weekend pretty soon.. We've both never been so it would be nice to get someone who has been before to go along, as well! We'd like to get as many Xs (or other 4x4, for that matter) as we can, the more the merrier! haha :bmmd:

If you think you may want to go or anything just reply and we'll try to work out a time best for the majority! :lolz:

On the book of faces there's a group called daily driver off-roaders that seen to go all the time., I've never been with then or posted much but they seen like a good group.

I am game. Just depends on my wifes work schedule as to whether I can go or not. Only trail both your trucks would have any trouble with is trying to go up is daniel. I tried it a few weekends ago and it wasnt happening. Might be able to start at the top and come down to the ledges and turn around and go back up it. Casey, I know your still running stock tie rod adjusters, but if you manage to damage one I have 3 spares in my truck. If Dylan comes, we will be in good shape.

I'll look them up and see if any of them would be interested. Most of them Jeeps, I'm assuming? haha

Coming from Rob, he said his best weekends are the 9th and 16th.. I'll check here soon if I have anything going on. And if/when I go.. it'll be just a day trip for me as well. I'm about 2 1/2 hours away so not too bad! But yeah, we'd love to have you there, man!

I say we just look at Daniel when we get there and and just play it as we see it. And I appreciate that about the TRAs. I've talked to Rob and he said he had some spares as well. I'll bring the necessary tools should I need it. I really want to buy some HD ones but it just isn't in the budget right now especially after springing for the skids. I'll for sure have them by the next nXm.

Lol yeah from what I've noticed there are a good number, but a lot of FJ's and 4runners too. Awhile back somebody posted about wanting some xterras to join up, I've just kept quiet though because I normally don't have a lot of time to go with them. One day I do want to go to Uwarrie, I used to work at Woodfield a scout camp on the river.

I just found them and requested to join there group. I figure I'll just tell them what's up and ask if anybody would like to tag along with us or whatever! haha

Hey they let me join no questions asked so you'll be fine. They always have something going on in NC or TN....a lot of windrock trips.

You're right. Pardon me on that! It's fixed.

As of now, it's really just me and Rob that's really confirmed anything and we both agree that the 16th is looking the best. So I believe, that'll be the best date to go.

Ok, so the official date is November 16th! If anybody is wanting to go or is even thinking about going, let us know!!

What time should we plan on meeting up and where?

I vote for around 11 or so.. And where doesn't really matter. Would y'all rather meet up there or like a Walmart or something nearby? I've never been and I'm not exactly sure on how to get there. I feel like the directions to a local Walmart may be easier to find, but it doesn't matter to me!

And just to add, if anybodys cup holders are missing after the trip, I totally had both of mine when I got there. Absolutely had both of them. :tunes:

i just posted this over at clubx so here is a good old copy and paste

Random thought

Most of the trails there arent that bad, and having a dedicated trail leader and a couple of spotters probably wont be needed most of the time, but in the event we need them is anybody willing to step up. I have no problem leading. I have ran every trail there by myself except daniel, but I dont know the trails all that well. For instance I dont really know which way to go to go up dickey bell, and I would much rather go up it than down it. I also am not completely sure I feel comfortable as a spotter if somebody gets in a sketchy position.

Also how many people coming have recovery gear and recovery points. We shouldnt really need a winch unless we end up getting serious about attempting daniel, but there are a few spots on the other trails where somebody may need to get yanked off of rocks.

My response, also a copy and paste.. Just trying to reach everyone! ;)

Seeing as I've never been there.. I feel like I wouldn't be the best person to lead haha. I've only spotted a rig a couple of times (never professionally, might I add haha!)

I feel like my main purpose here in to just get everybody together (with the help of Mr. Rob, of course). Once we all get there, I'll be perfectly fine with taking the backseat and being a follower haha. Whoever wants or feels like they can lead, will lead!

That's at least how I see it, I'm just here for the meeting of some awesome people and some great trail riding! :D
