We are no longer limited by the constraints of gifs.
Use the WEBM tag for .webm links (URLs must end in .webm). If you want to use a .gifv image hosted on imgur simply change the extension to .webm as below in the example. Note, since webm files can have sound, I have set them to not auto start and have playback controls attached. On a regular web browser you will have to press play to start the video.
Example: [notag][webm]http://i.imgur.com/zvATqgs.webm[/webm][/notag]
Produces:
[webm]http://i.imgur.com/zvATqgs.webm[/webm]
AND
You can also now directly embed Gfycat using the GFYCAT tag. When linking to Gfycat only use the Gfy name. Not the entire URL.
Example: [notag][gfycat]BlissfulLiquidAuk[/gfycat][/notag]
Produces:
[gfycat]BlissfulLiquidAuk[/gfycat]
A few notes for Tapatalk users...
If you use Tapatalk, you will only see two sets of gifs in this post. This is because of the tag limitation in Tapatalk. If the instructions on tags above are not clear enough, please visit this thread in a browser and you will see what I mean.
Also, regarding webms in Tapatalk. There are some limitations. Namely, .webm files linked from imgur or other sites that allow on the fly conversion to .gif will work. If the .webm file you are linking to does not support changing the extension to .gif, then it will not show correctly in Tapatalk. It will still show correctly in a traditional browser.
Enjoy!
