This thread is meant to share your trailers, campers and toy haulers, that are all able to be towed by your Xterra.
The idea of this is to help those who are looking for some kinda of towable camper trailer or what have you. Feel free to include trail tow behinds with RTT, yep thats also a trailer so go nuts but lets follow some simple guide lines.

So if you got one let see it?
What do you like about it?
What does it weigh loadedish?
Price paid?(Only if you're comfortable with this)
Can you bring a friend? (How many does it sleep)
Anything else you feel like sharing about your home away from home.

For other peoples reference and my own, the Xterra is rated to tow 5,000 lbs max. Correct?

I'm hoping to get a pop up trailer at some point to help make my X into my camping beast :D

Part of me wants to buy an old M416 trailer and slowly build an expedition trailer out of it. The other part of me want to just go ahead and buy one of these right now: http://www.livinlite.com/6.0-overview.php

I'm leaning towards one of these and just adding to it for any extra needs :D So far the Fleetwood Evolution E1 or an E2 at the most.

A dude on a jeep forum painted his to match his rig and it looks freaking sweet.

I'd like to build a custom pop-up/toy hauler. If that were the case, I would make sure the wheels had the same bolt pattern as the X, that way the same spares could be used all around.

The axle is WAY too far back on the second one that you posted. That would be interesting to pull.

I really like those Fleetwood Evolutions. The site I linked to (LivinLite) has some in that size as well, and so-called off road versions. I like that they're all aluminum and light. I'll look into the Fleetwoods.

Also, if money were no object, I'd have a Chaser.

I've been looking into a trailer myself. MAN those things can be EXPENSIVE!!! even if you build one from scratch. But i've gotten a lot of help and ideas on the ExPo site. Just an FYI.

When I finally start mine I plan to update here as well.

I love Expo portal :D

Yeah I have been working up ideas for building my own trailer.. IF you take your time and buy metal slowly you could build a sweet trailer.

I found this one the other day, I'm with J if I had the money I would definitely have a chaser. Dave that teardrop actually looks pretty good, not sure how much space you have though.

I'm actually kinda torn between a tentrax and one of those teardrops Dave posted.

Just found a dealer for the little teardrops and the one in Dave's post is no longer on my list if I'm dropping that kinda money I'm getting a chaser.

The tear drops are sweet to sleep in.. Only issue is they are not as hardcore as the off road models.. but for what Id like it for Id never take it on trips like that

I was really feeling it until I found a dealer so I could check prices and the base price for the off-road model was 7k. It is one of the larger if not largest ones the others started off between 3k-6k depending on size and if you wanted the bare bones or what not.

This was the first dealer I found for the teardrops, link will take you to the page with the base prices. Joe's Southtown Motors
Just built my own tentrax and it didn't turn out any better and I was doing my best to not put stuff on it.

I'd like to build one of these campers. I bet you could for way cheaper than these companies charge and add to it over time.

From what I'm told, building one from scratch you'd end up spending anywhere from $3K - $7K depending on who you talk to and what you want in it. At my size a teardrop or one of those mini's ain't gonna cut it. I'd rather spend a little at a time and build my own then spend that all at once. Unless someone out there has extra money they don't need...my birthday is comming up soon :D

After looking at the average prices I'm thinking thats the way to go. Just find a decent chassis for now and throw a RTT on top of a tube frame.

Found this Link if you wanna build your own teardrop.

Hey Dave you think RLC could handle making a tub trailer to work from?

ok I think this one is pretty sweet by the weight, my wife thinks the price is a bit high but the weight and what you get is pretty good. at 1500lbs you wouldnt even notice it back there and probably really wouldnt hurt your mpgs much, i think the savings in gallons by weight it would probably pay for itself. Yeah its not real off roady (if thats a term) but i think if im going wheelin, im probably going to park the trailer somewhere, unless im out on an expedition, then id need something wheel worthy

I like that Tab, but for $15k, I'd rather the AT teardrop or Chaser. No need to keep the weight down at 1500 pounds unless you plan to do a lot of towing up steep mountain roads. I think a fully loaded target weight of 2000-2500 pounds would be ideal for the Xterra. I looked at those teardrop plans, and that's definitely got me interested.

The website says the 8' is all bolt together no welding and they mention a harbor freight trailer for about $300. So I will definitely be looking into that once I'm back.

Same track width as the truck as it stays out of the wind and is light enough that you really never know that it is there.

The tent cot sits on a rail system that is welded to the top of the trailer and all of my spairs and camping stuff can stay in the trailer.

The trailer is a one of a kind, made by me in my garage. and yes I can open the swing away and hatch with the trailer on.

my daily elevation is 4500, and if im off to anyway in California gotta go over Donner Pass which is 7K so yeah light weight would be awesome for me
