Yeah sure you don't......cause mine is sooooooo much more than I can handle......just think....if you get stuck and your winch wont pull you out....maybe just maybe the extra 2500 lbs would get you out....do you really want to be in a situation like that?

The news is in. I didn't get the the prices I was hoping for from Ironman 4x4. But I do have a last chance purchase on goods at a pretty good deal. Some stuff is discounted pretty well other stuff not so much. I have updated my site to show the New "sale" prices. These prices will only be good till the 28th of this month. After that, all Ironman product will no longer be available from me. They will still honor warranty but you will be dealing with them from the Aus side.

Oh okay fine time for a Winch lesson.

so the rated strength of a winch only and I repeat only the first wrap layer around the drum. once you're past that you don't have the rated strength of that winch anymore, you have considerably less. most of them will say that after the first wrap you've lost 60% that's why every decent winch supplier will tell you to buy something that is at least twice the weight of your vehicle. That said a second job next era completely empty is supposed to be about 4500 pounds if you figure with you when it anybody else that may be in the vehicle and any other stuff that you may have added it may be sitting in it anything like that 12,000 pound winch is probably where you should be for a second GEN Xterra now first GEN maybe not they may be quite a bit lighter I don't know but a second GEN I've done all my research on it you can get away with either A really high-quality 9500 pound winch or you can get away with just about any 12,000 pound and if they're going to be a killer sale why would you not go for the 12,000 for the extra hundred bucks over a 9500 come on now.

Also, I said I don't want to 12,000 pound wench not a 12,000 pound winch yeah you missed the joke...

I have come to the conclusion. That since I don't own a house and have a garage and I'm dropping a crazy amount of money right now on my front diff, locker, gears, body lift, "power tank". Even though I have the money I don't want to dig into those extra funds. I'm not going to buy the tent and awning. I'm so sad over this. :(

great price on the winch, and some of the light bars. If I could get harbor freight to give me a refund on my dead winch instead of just a replacement I would jump on that 12k.

I was thinking about getting that one and putting it under the emblem on my bumper. Maybe up top but around here you can't run lights that are above the headlights at night. I found another company called tuff stuff. Ever heard of them?
