So your X is the only vehicle in the family? So your wife doesn't drive or anything?

That's rare these days.

She drives the Xterra when she needs to go do something. I guess saying we're a single vehicle family is an overstatement as I have my dads old pickup sitting in the driveway but it gets driven like once a month. Becca doesn't work so she doesn't go many places because she can't spend money and that makes going places less fun.

Haha, thanks man. Thanks to a very generous two people, OKXterra and MississippiGal I now am the proud owner of a sweet garage door opener OTRATTW switch and Maxterra rear bumper at a great price.

Angular sheet steel on an exocage painted doomsday black with Radar absorbing paint, and a turret mounted semi-auto .50bmg rifle?

I like the way that sounds! I'm hoping to sell my bumper and hitch and be able to buy an ironman awning. This is the measurement for the length of the 98" one that runs 84" wide. That would have the front hanging over the wind jam by just a few inches and the rear as far back while still being able to open the hatch. I plan on talking to Dan about how his felt mounted up on his dephep. I like the way the mounts work with the rack.

Uh...why not make your own? Much cheaper....

I've thought about that and will likely weigh that against cost and quality once I have cash in hand. The hardest thing that I've ran across when sourcing a homegrown awning is the legs.

PVC...there's a full writeup on here somewhere I thought...

Both awnings look good in their own way. The first, I'm sure is a fraction of the cost compared to the second. It all depends on what you like/can afford. I mean, If you can sew at all, you can stitch runs along the sides of the homemade awning to put support poles through so it doesn't sag/looks more professional. Honestly that's about the only difference I see between the two aside maybe the canvas material/brand name.

The differences on these are: Price: ~$50-$75 vs. ~$240+whatever shipping will run. Precision: custom built as well as my abilities allow vs. factory built by someone who does it for a living land has tested the product. Presentation: again, as good looking as my abilities will allow vs. factory Patron: local hardware store vs. our very own www.xterraperformanceparts.com

And this

Got the built in LEDs with the Ironman one. Sent from my mansion in Grouchland.

I was considering making one but I think the Ironman one will just go onto my list of future purchases.

Here's the easy way. I was planning on making a set of "legs" that are tensioners that go back to the roof rack, as well as a set to go to the ground, or back to the sliders, with some tensioning guy lines.

Well I went to Lowes today and picked up a full set of Cobalt drill bits and a tool box. I've needed a tool box for the rear of the Xterra to relocate the jack and supplies since we have two car seats in the truck. I wanted to use the track system to secure the tool box so I just used the base of the little track eyes and some bolts I had lying around. I measured and drilled out some holes and here is the finished product. Oh, I also needed to get my trail axe secured. Now I just need to remove a car seat to get the jack stuff out, and drill out the mounts for the ironman awning.

Also, we went to Mt. Scott and took maternity and family pictures.
