Sorry for the threadjack duder.

Oh, no worries. I asked the question. I imagine having it roof mounted hurts MPG's too (not that we bought these for MPGs). So if it's a 35", I'm guessing it won't fit under the rear and hence the need for putting it up top?

Right. Haven't tried it myself to be sure, but I am nearly positive a 35" won't fit underneath the truck where the factory spare would be stored. Even if it did fit, it would be at risk for a puncture from rocks while off roading.
