I dont see the value in buying new vehicles. I don't need to be the first one to drive it. And you can save big bucks by going older for a few years. If the price was within a grand or so I'd buy new. But the vehicles I look at tend to depreciate so much that getting one two or three years old is significantly cheaper.
id consider trading the ford in for one down the road if they age well.
i agree with you 100%. but if people make enough money to buy new, then good for them.

i will say this though. i was creeping on titan talk about a year go and i was seeing some posts about people with early build trucks having some body molding adhesive issues. i mean its common that a the first year of a new platform will have its flaws, some more then others (cough cough GM) but i wonder what else will pop up over time.
yeah, i rather make that kind of investment into a pre emissions diesel. id buy something like a gen 2 6.0, drop a new bulletproofed engine in it with tranny, egr delete, the works.

Jeeps are the worst. I don't get it. The people selling jeeps seem to think they're cast in gold or something. I bought my 92 YJ in 2002 for $5k. Today, that same truck with another 15 years and 100k miles would still be $5k. It makes no sense.
When I bought the wife's Pathy, I shopped for the equivalent 4Runner. 3 years old, leather, 4wd, heated everything, etc. The sticker on both was about 47k new in 2011. Paid 23k for the Pathy, an equivalent 4Runner was still $40k.
Exactly. They ufcked that up. I'm sure the Aisian will be a good transmission. They've got a good track record. But if it had the Allison, it'd be a hot seller.
If you can get the right vehicle at the right price, they're great trucks.
