Why would anyone here want to track their MPGs? lol. This isn't a Prius enthusiast website.

I like the 2004 Xterra with the Username "stiflersmom" who averages 11.9 mpg on an SAS.. really throwing a monkeywrench into the equation.. wait.. that is what we get anyway.

LOL @Ryan. Fuelly is a cool site, but Fuelly depresses me when it comes to the Xterra.... :p

I DID get about 14.1 on one tank - best ever MPG so far!

Dude, I've written every single time I've gotten gas plus the od reading and # of gallons since JAN 2010. Most of the time you can get stuff like that written off on your taxes. Just sayin

Haha this makes the sentence in my signature stand out :)
I use gas cubby app for the iPhone and I'm getting about 15-14.1mpg. Im in need of a fill up and I have babied it this last tank so I'm hoping to get into the 15-16 range!

I use Gas Cubby as well - great app, love it.
I've been tracking since 12/20/08 I'm averaging about 15 or so over the whole period.

Got 14.5mpg out of this last tank....around 240 mpt

News stations are saying its supposed to jump over $4 the weekend before spring break (first week of april) here in bowling green, and they predict it to not come back down from $4 for a looooong time once it goes up.

I avg 15.40 last fill up.. I've brought it up from the 13 range..
How you say? Ultra gauge.. I fill up and watch how I drive.. It's nice to have the real time mpg.. Makes you back off faster.. And lighter on the take offs..

Nismo remember with the larger tires you have to adjust the range.. Seems like you add 6 or so miles per 100 drove..

I average 15.8 mpg according to Gas Cubby. My highest was 16.2 and that was driving from Houston (where I bought the X) to Atlanta.

Being that mine is a manual, I've tried different shift points for city driving but have not noticed a difference in gas mileage. Being that mine is stock (although 4WD), I would hoping for better than ~16mpg during my trip back from Houston.

Im at 115 miles on trip A (reset at the pump upon fill up) and I'm just at 3/4 a tank! Thanks to highway driving!

If Im around ~150 miles at half a tank I know I'm on track.

Its all about where you drive and the condition of the vehicle. Even with my PML, 31s, and lights before I got a CAI, I averaged about 18.2-18.7mpg with 280-300mpt.

I been pleasantly surprised with my MPG's. My I4 Escape averaged 19-20mpg, and the X is so much more truck and I'm averaging 18.5, so I've noticed little difference in my fuel bill.

Been trying to get in the habit to stay off the skinny pedal. Having the power there to get me up to speed helps. On the I4 I hammered on it because it took so long to get up to speed, the X takes off quickly without having to wind it out.

I have been tracking my mileage for years, not so much worried about consumption, although it is nice to know, it is also a quick way to notice problems cropping up in the engine or see changes due to mods and such. I like this software I found for free, lets me keep records of all vehicle related activity.

My 02 4x4 with 4.9's got nothing on your 340mpt! Haha my 13.9mpg's!

Load range E = fail

I wish I new what everyone does to get the crappy mileage. I'd love to do a piece in the mag on fuel mileage. Imagine the amount of money saved if we could get everyone above 15, let alone near 20mpg?

I know what I do to my engine for maintenance. If I could experiment on someone elses rig to see if what I do is actually the cause of good mileage, I'd love to do it.

Anyone near Denver want to do some experimentation for the sake of saving some fuel/money?

What do you do...I mean we both have first gens, 4x2 same gears...

Retension the timing belt, add in 2 degrees of timing (still within the Nissan plus/minus of 2 degrees either way), replace the spark plugs if they're over .043", clean the MAF every 15k miles, clearing the self learn with a MAF reset at the same time as I clean the MAF, run good oil (I use Castrol GTX 5W-30) and here's the kicker, I usually run with both the driver's side windows down. I hardly use the A/C and I'm doing between 60mph and 75mph, still with the windows down.

What I think the main thing is the timing belt tension and distributor timing. But cleaning the MAF (I do it when it's cold, using brake cleaner and blow drying it off with my mouth, never compressed air) and then clearing the self learn at the same time.

But that's just me.
