Ok, I believe we will be getting a group campsite. If we get 15 people, it will be less than $8 for the entire weekend of camping, and we may round it up to $10 and include a well cooked meal on Saturday night. Still getting all the details together.

A group campsite sounds great! We will probably be sleeping in the x (even though I said I would never do that again) so we don't need much space.

Looks like we could show up sometime Friday....almost 7 hour drive for me, maybe night run, fellowship, wheel Saturday, dinner Saturday nightish, and then head home (looks like I'm gonna have to work Sunday.....grrr).

Casey, did you say you were going there Friday? If its cool with you, I would like to meet up with you and follow you in. Its entirely possible for me to get lost just trying to find the right place....haha.

That would be fine. I'm not sure exactly what time I'll be heading out but I'm sure I'll know closer to time.

A NOAS shirt would be awesome! I'm down for any kind of shirt, honestly

So, I got to ride the private trails out at URE...not my favorite. They keep you off-camber throughout most of the ride, the trails are very narrow, but there are some pretty cool tough obstacles throughout the area. I would say the system we did is as tough as Daniel is now (not last year or previous years), but you have off-camber hill climbs, where with Daniel, it's not off camber. Thought I'd offer the report up here.

Also, it looks like we'll have 15-18 rigs there, so we MIGHT want to separate into 2 groups so we can get through everything a little quicker...also it would be hard to find places to go off to the side when there is traffic for 15 rigs.

I am at a TBD point with this run. Some stuff came up and also the babysitter we would be using for the day trip is going to be out of town.

I will let sno what happens offline if I can or cannot make it.

*****LATEST UPDATE*****

We have about 15 rigs confirmed going with about 4 tentative rigs. We will be camping in the group camp area; we will get one Group camp site on Thursday (which I will be getting there on Thursday), and the other two on Friday/Saturday. If everyone shows up, we are looking at about $20/RIG for camping; this may also include an event sticker.

How many would be up to throw in an extra $5 and we'll do a large cookout on Saturday night? Burgers, Hot Dogs, Chili, a liter a cola, etc.

T-Shirt Design is still in development phase, but it looks like they will be between $20 (short sleeve, XL and smaller) and $26 (long sleeve, XL and smaller), plus the cost of shipping, unless I can get them done locally...ss "comfortable" folks will have to pay a little extra for the bigger sizes (2XL and above).

I will be getting there Friday night, so $20 for the weekend is good for me. I am also down to throw in extra coin for a Saturday night cook out.

Man...this is cool...becoming an entire event with stickers and T-shirts...sounds good to me...excited to see the designs you come up with. I may be interested in a T-Shirt

Yep Stephen is helping amensly with this, and we are grateful for that. We want to show you all how NOAS used to be and see if we can't pick up some new members to boot.

I'm not going to have sliders before the run, so I'm kind of up in the air now. I would probably be fine (lifted with 33s) but for the peace of mind I don't like doing a lot without sliders. Anyone that has been recently think I would be ok, or would you think I should hold off for now?

I've been there several times without sliders. In fact, I've never hit my sliders at URE because they don't have those tight areas. This whole park is very stock friendly, and as long as you don't try to jump your truck up every obstacle, you'll be fine.

Btw, Nisstec has a set for $450 shipped, and I think P&P has a set too, but don't know pricing. Hardcore off-road does too.

I was looking forward to this but the guard is doing our physicals that weekend so I can't get out of it. Y'all have fun and don't break anything.

only thing at URE that has ever hit my sliders was a piece of wood that they used to make a bridge. I have never been up the ledges at Daniel (not for a lack of trying), so maybe there is a place there, and there are some places on dickey bell that you could hit your sliders if you intentionally went out of your way to do so. Honestly I think you could run every trail there that is currently open with no armor of any kind and be ok.

We will have different groups go with different difficulty vehicals. With this group it will probably be two groups an intermediate and a hard group. So no worries anyone should come out because URE is very Stocker friendly. I have done the whole system in a stock Xterra. Also dont be afraid to ask questions or for a spot we are always willing to help ya out.

Agreed; I will lead the Intermediate group, as I'm very familiar with this place, if you want. I want to run Daniel again though...

Casey, you'll ride the Hard group right? ;)

All I know is if I break another tie rod adjuster this wheeling trip, I am giving it up and turning my X into a daily driver mall crawler. I have had too many trail repairs and wasted countless hours fixing things that I want to just enjoy my X without being on edge and worrying about breaking something.

That...and my wife is coming. If she doesn't have at least a somewhat pleasant time, it makes it a hell of a lot harder to spend money on MODs. If we spend more time fixing my truck and limping home after the weekend than forward progress...

:tears2:

So if I have to follow the 2WD guys to play it safe, so be it :)

OK OK OK...maybe I am exaggerating somewhat...but still...goal for the weekend...no breaking things.

I figure the intermediate group will start on the easier trails and work there way to harder ones, just seeing how everyone is going and making sure no ones left behind obviously. Now the harder group wont just hit daniel but I would say we would hit a more agressive group of trails and will try more obsticals. Casey your truck is built the same as mine is now, and I never had a problem back when i was on a PML and 31s following the hard group. You should ride with us.

Sounds cool to me. I'm not a expert, but I'm not new to this either and like I said I've been to URE before. Intermediate sounds like it will be right up my alley, I don't mind spotting someone or helping out either, and I don't particularly like going fast down trails anyways.

We'll get all through the trails with no breakage, promise! And, my wife was surprised at how much fun she had at WENT...I'm sure Ms. robcarync will feel the same after this event.

Only thing I would like to get before this weekend event is the engine skid, because I would like to take a more interesting line up Daniel this time around.

Dickey bell is a cake walk for these trucks as long as the right line is picked. We had trouble for anything not locked last year on daniel but i have heard it has calmed down this year. We shall see. and casey I would say just be easy on the throttle and follow the spotter and you wont brake anything. Sides most of us cary way more spares then needed lol so we shoudl be able to get you home if something does happen.

I've wheeled since I had my license and have never broke anything until WENT. Be it a coinsidence or not.. I just took my sway bar off about a week or two before. Needless to say, it's going back on. I bought all new end links and bushings and they're going back on.

Dickey bell can break some tie rod adjusters if the rest of your steering isnt up to snuff. I bent a stock adjuster on it and rob destroyed his hd adjusters last year going up it. Coming down dickey is safer but makes my butt pucker a bit. I tried daniel last year with noas and couldnt get up the first ledge. But I have heard it much tamer this year.

On a side note, still hoping to get out there for this. Got all my parts lined up. Just need to get a day and a place to work on the truck and get an alignment.
